Downes has gone from POTY to a liability in just a few months. O'Connor has too much confidence in his own ability, but has been an improvement on what we had earlier in the year when Pearce was playing.

Hawley should never have started the game today, he's been lazy, immobile and low on morale for months. The only time he was in the penalty area on the end of something, he missed 2 great chances(penalty and Bodin's cut back) and scored a goal. Benyon may frustrate, and he may not have the physical presence, but damn he works hard and creates chances for himself and others. Hawley's confidence has been terrible, yet he took the ball for the penalty? Stupid.

How people can say the tactics were spot on is beyond me. We set up in the right formation, but with the wrong personnel. 2 months ago, Knill said the reason Craig wasn't playing was because he couldn't play in a 2 in the centre of the park, only as part of a 3, and now we are playing with 3, yet he won't play the only player we have who is creative and can pick a pass.

We are in a mess, a couple of wins won't paper over the cracks(just ask the fans who have paid thousands to follow Alastair Cook and co around Australia). I was thinking about Plymouth before today, but there's no way I can justify paying the money it costs to watch something which destroys my soul for days.

Nick you can't give up man! If we lost at Plymouth would you be more peed off if you went than if you didn't? Not really because we'd have lost anyway. At least if you are there you can clap, you can cheer, encourage, cajole and sing. I'm not saying it is going to make a difference but it is better than not going. What if we win 5-0? Highly improbable but not impossible. You will have missed out. The thing about supporting a team like Torquay which I have learnt these last few years is that we get mostly a load of old sh*te but occasionally we see a gem of a game (not seen one myself mind in 7 years :~D ) but when it comes around you'll want to be there. Go to Plymouth my good man and be a part of the fans that give up in their heads because of managers and players that are stealing an income but fans that never give up in their hearts.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

I'm not giving up, I will be at Plainmoor on Saturday. But how can anyone justify the outlay? £20 ticket, £10 for fuel, £10 for parking, food etc after spending £46 on the last 2 games, £92 if you include the 2 tickets I gave my dad for Christmas(great present eh!!!) and another £20 next Saturday. THAT HOME OUTLAY IS ON TICKETS ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!

10 days of supporting Torquay, and £150+ spent. It's not just the heart's decision to make. When you take into account that it will take up at least 4-5 hours of a day I could spend with family, it's not even a tough decision any more.

If I had an inkling things were changing, then I would make the foolish financial choice and put myself through it like I have for 20+ years. It takes a lot to make me fall out of love with football/TUFC, but I'm reaching breaking point.

Aimed at me? If so, feel free to come to my house where there are 20 years worth of shirts, programmes, scarves, photo's etc if you feel that people need to prove they're entitled to feel disillusioned?

You are not alone in feeling that way. I was saying to my mate today that I look at the fixture list some weeks and I am glad when we are away and I don't have waste time and money and suffer the emotional drainage, watching Knill's team.

I realise people on hear say they " supported for years " and "weare playing bad" but if you cared about this club you would got to watch a game and if you didn't the excuse of " knills tactics are wrong and we are playin bad" you might need to re evaluate if you are a fan or not

I didn't say it made me a better fan than anyone else, I'm just offended by the quotes you used around the word fans. Are people only fans if they can afford to attend all games? I'm saving my money to be able to attend the Morecambe game, thus giving my money to our club rather than someone else's, I'm just not disappointed that I'm not going.

No need to be condescending with the 'thick and thin' comment. Every TUFC fan knows what supporting Torquay entails, but if your wife kept cheating on you, would you still want to share the same bed time after time?

Mate, people only say that to either emphasise how good or bad a scenario is, or when they're challenged for not being a good/true supporter.

Just seen the goals and I fail to see how Poke could not have done a bit better with the goals.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

and the one I think where Downes dived in like Luis Suarez but missed and Poke came rushing out. Could have got a nick on that although I'm being picky. Could have been 1-1 with Ricey in goal. :na:
