Swearing can be used very well by the intelligent too, it isn't solely a sign of stupidity. 'f'ing' can be used as a tool to emphasis a point. For example:-

"This person is an imbecile."

"This person is a f**king imbecile."

Makes it a much stronger point, doesn't it?

People who use a swear word at least once a sentence are imbeciles, but if used sporadically, then it can help emphasise a point.

Back to the thread! I would normally wish ex players well, but not Rene at the Green scum. Hope he scores a big very fat (!) zero,

And maybe he is, but he clearly hasn't performed this season. Long may that continue if he goes to Home Park.

He did well for us. Moved on, why are we bitter? because he didn't want to spend his entire career playing in front of 2000 home crowds slugging his guts out on his own up front in a struggling side?

I'd have him back tomorrow if he was on offer.

Cannot disagree with any of that, but the fact remains that he has ended up at a similar size club to us, so still playing in front of "2000 home crowds", the only difference being that he currently can't even make their bench ... such a waste of his undoubted talent. He spent years at Peterborough, picking up his wages but never playing, except for when he was sent out on loan ... and it's beginning to look as though it might become a similar story for him at Burton.

I'm sure he is hugely frustrated at this turn of events, but at least he is picking up a few more quid and living a bit nearer to " home" wherever that actually is! I thought it was a poor move for him at the time at the end of the summer, not helped by the fact that he seemed to stall too long over the move, and he ended up with what looked like a "better than nothing" type option when surely he should have been setting his sights higher in League 1 or even the SPL.

Beginning to look like his time at Torquay might just turn out to be as good as it gets for him, at least as far as his football career is concerned, and personally I think that would be a great shame, given what we know he is capable of.

Think it's pretty clear Burton wasn't no 1 on Rene's want list in the summer but was obviously the best one that came to something by the end of the summer. Just don't get why anyone would want to have a go at him as if he's the first person to leave TUFC trying to get a better deal for himself in what is a dog eat dog business and exceptionally short career. These aren't millionaires that you see on the TV, they have bills to pay and a very unsecure job lifestyle.

Confirmed ages ago (can't find the link, but it's out there) that is not Rene for Plym. He was the fourth striker confirmed as having rejected them.

Why do you think we are bitter? I think Rene was a star for us, I wish he had signed again. However, joining the green scum is a different issue, I wouldn't want Mother Teresa, the Dalai Lama or Jesus to do well at Home Park. I hope Rene stays at Burton and does well (except against us).

Good! I hope the striker that Argyle signed from Bury is a donkey.

Chris, I'm not so sure Burton is nearer 'home' for Rene as I'm pretty certain he's from Bedford. Given proper service and not playing as a lone forward I'd be ok about him returning not that he's ever going to. As the Four Tops said,'Walk Away Rene' and find a club which will play you.
