It is interesting to hear of stories from fans going back decades about Torquay and it is obvious we have a wide range of ages using this site. At Wycombe recently I met yellowsmiffy and we had a similar conversation and I said I thought in my mind he was about mid forties. It turns out he is well under half that age! OOOPS!! :Oops:

Some posters sound on here a lot older than they are in reality and I just wanted to conduct another survey purely for my own knowledge to find out the general ages of the members who use this site.
Please partake it would be most appreciated.

Andy. I think you missed one of the age ranges . should go under the heading of Methuselah. over 125. otherwise known as senile. Well i feel it a lot of the time.
Of course you didn't actually state whether this is actual age ranges or mental age range. Oh. I didn't see under 10 either come to think of it. After some of the comments on here I would suspect that age range to be significant.
Ah well. back to the faggots chips and peas.

Have reached the grand old age of 68 dispute large quantities of Cognac and red wine.No matter what age Saturday afternoons are either high elation or where's the dog I want to kick him up the aspidestra.
That's what we like to hear although may I recommend a replacement for the poor dog Frenchgull? A lifesize mannequin of Paul Buckle for example? It would be about the size of a Border Collie anyway so just the right heigh to get your foot in!

I'm, thankfully, a healthy and thriving 66 year old who has been watching the Gulls ever since my Dad started to take me as a little lad under 4 yrs of age in the 1950/51 season. Although I can faintly remember my first visit to Plainmoor, I can only clearly recollect matches in the 'almost promotion' to the old Second Division in season 1956/57. Following the Gulls has been a big part of my life and the 'ups and downs' that characterise life as a Gulls addict have made life that much more interesting. Although I do not contribute a great deal to this board, I do read almost everything that is written and, I must admit, do get frustrated reading the comments of the 'doom mongers' who criticise so much that the Gulls management and players are trying to do. For goodness sake, this is what following a League Two team is all about. Personally, I believe that this team will improve over the coming weeks and we will move up the table to a more respectable position before too long. If the team continue to put in the effort shown against Pompey last Saturday and the fans get behind the team as they did during that game, all will be well!
At 82 I am claiming to be the oldest contributor on this site. I am fitter now than when I was 28 probably due to a younger partner. Loved supporting United in the 50s and have followed their progress ever since. I agree entirely with Magpiegull - why so much negativity? Give Knill time to establish a settled side and all will be right. Just off for my evening exercise.
53 on my birthday last Wednesday. Suffer from high blood pressure and diabetes due to the stress of watching the Gulls since 1971 !!
Seriously though I love the ups & downs of following our wonderful club. Have made some great friends over the years and when the good moments do come along they are all the more enjoyable because of their rarity. Something a Manure fan would not be able to understand.
17 years of age, born in 1996 with my first game at Torquay United being at home against Rochdale in 2002 with the result being a draw, 2-2. Feels like I've been supporting the Gulls for a long time for my age and I wouldn't have it any other way!
