The Pitch...
Any news on this? Are we likely to have one that justifies the name this season, or are we currently shipping tonnes of sand from Torre Abbey and playing beach soccer this year? Normally when changes are made to the pitch, we get plenty of positive progress reports. Have I missed the sound bites this year? And did we opt for re-turfing this time (as is generally considered the norm), or did we decide to seed it again - a tactic normaly reserved for Mrs Bucket's 12 ft square lawn? Hope to hear some news soon. And to see a pitch deserving of league football.

Last I heard they were due to bring in an earthquake machine to break up the clay under the surface. They will then place a layer of sand under the (new?) turf layer. It will probably take time for the whole process to happen but I'm sure Andy Candy will update us when there's more to know.

Good Morning,
The pitch is looking very good. The verti-draining has been completed and the new seed has taken very well and there is good strong grass growing on the pitch. The ground staff ( who are white lining the pitch as I type this) have still work to do in the run off area at the Family Stand end and part of the run off area down the side of Bristows Bench but this is also coming on nicely. Beach lovers at Torre Abbey can rest easy that there will not be a dawn raid by the groundsman this year to deprive them of their sand.
Regards,
Andrew

Any chance of a couple of photos on the main site? Always feels like a new season when these come on there.
Or the pictures of the training ground that we were promised?exiledgull wrote:Any chance of a couple of photos on the main site? Always feels like a new season when these come on there.

Tim is posting the Seale Hayne update with pictures this weekend. Pictures of Plainmoor will follow early next week.
Great work on the training ground. Having been to Seale Hayne many a time I know that the slope was huge. Looks good!

The grass is long, but that pitch looks incredible. Plymouth Argyle please note, yours may be better, but we actually paid for ours.
