Kind of wish we hadn't beaten Barnet

Post by Dave_Pougher »

and Chesterfield had made the play offs by not losing to Argyle on the 16th April

cos that would have meant we'd have had 50 points one point ahead of argyle who would have been relegated.

Just saying.

It is summer pointless thread time.

yeah, that would have been ok. Looking at the race to sign Rene, & also hoping that we thrash whoever signs him next season!

Yep - that would have been good, Dave. BUT ..... as Argyle did beat Chesterfield, if we'd have drawn with Barnet instead of beating them, we would have been relegated by goal difference - two goals worse than Dagenham. So more than happy with the way things finished with us above Argyle ..... but would have preferred to see Dagenham go than Barnet. Fully agree with you, though ...... pointless thread !! Cheers !

Or you could have cut out the middle man all together, and said only if Plymouth had just lost to Chesterfield they would have gone down regardless of us beating Barnet.

To be honest as much as plymouth going into the conference would have given me much pleasure, glad Barnet went down, it really was their turn.

Im glad Barnet went too. They always seemed to be near the bottom of the table and apart from the odd season, what else have they done? At least we've had a few promotion challenging runs in the past. Besides, I think relegation may help them for the future. With a new ground, I think they will be in the play off picture. A few seasons at the top end of the table like our 2 years in the conference could do wonders for them.

Plus Argyle always bring a healthy crowd and we always seem to get a decent result over them anyway.
