Deadman

Post by lucusmc »

Why is it every time we have him, he seems to want to be the centre of attention. Like looking at the popside after he booked two of our players yesterday, and the dash at the end just topped it off! :red:

Hi guys I'm Luke btw, long time reader first time poster :)

Hi luke - I wasn't at the game yesterday but I winced when I knew Deadman was the referee. The penalty that he gave looked absolutely farcical and as for running off the pitch before blowing the whistle. I have never actually seen anything like it. The bloke is an absolute disgrace.

Hi luke and welcome

Deadman, McDermid and Drysdale shoud all be sentenced to death by firing squad with immeadiate effect. Their prolific incompetence is mindblowing and they are truly evil.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

deadman is such an egotistical, inept, pompous, posturing prat he will probably end up reffing in the premier league.

he's got graham poll mk2 written all over him

Hi Luke you are right. We noticed , yesterday, that he looked up into the Popside crowd after booking players. As for the dash at the final whistle. He was virtually across the white line and through the gates by the time he actually blew the full time whistle. It was quite funny because he, obviously, did mot bother to advise his linesmen that he was going to make a run for it. The linno on the Popside was left to face the music. Very bizarre behaviour by Deadman.

Wierd thing is at half time I actually thought he had refereed the game quite well, let the game flow wasn't blowing his whistle every 5 seconds like some do.Then half time, did someone put something drink.

He just lost the plot from the moment he gave that penalty and my gord what an awful decision, deadman seem quite vindictive to me, the Torquay players and fans got on his back and his decision maing got more bizzare as the game went on, surely he must have realized what was riding on this game, could have used some common sense and not booked Benyon for celebrating the first goal, and then didn't book him for the same thing on Benners second goal, consistancey, but then did book Harrold for celebrating his goal.

He ran off quickly at the end because he probably felt threatened and expected a pitch invasion as it was the last match, I think thats why he took a hard long look at the popside.

Agreed forever was like a switch went and it became every decision to BR for at least 20mins there was a lot anger on the popside, i think he looked at one point and maybe thought he should calm down because he wasnt as bad for the last 25mins

The running off at FT though, what a prat!

Stuart Attwell's another one; demoted from the Premier League a year or two ago.

But perhaps referees improve with age...? :)

Just seen Late Kick Off, it's actually quite funny seeing him running across the background and hearing the whistle blow! Agree he had a decent first half, maybe he sat down at half time and thought "hang on, I'm Darren Deadman, I've got a reputation to uphold"....

Disagree a bit here Dave. I have no idea why he even spoke to Benyon the second time. The first booking was presumably for leaving the field of play? The second, he clearly made a point of celebrating on (or very near) the pitch. I don't think he went near the fans?

I can understand why he ran off at the end- he was expecting an invasion which didn't come- except one idiot from the family stand.

He knows this isn't the best of places with his history so it was for his safety. Although it was funny.

'Mr.Deadman cautioned Benyon then,(after first goal),and Rovers striker Matt Harrold later, for hugging fans over the terrace fences,a triumph for the letter of the law over a touch of common sense.'
'Still, the Cambridge official has now booked 127 players in 36 matches this season,so maybe we should have expected it'
