Agree Dave, win the games and we should be safe barring York and Aldershot doing likewise.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Yep Dutch me old mate, I get it. However the simple point I am trying to get across is our destiny is not in any way going to be controlled by teams above us in the league, our destiny is going to be controlled by us first and if we fail to win by the teams below us.

There is no need for any ferrarilover scale of completely over comlicating things, if accrinton had lost tonight we would still have to beat Barnet or nothing would have changed, unless, of course the two belows us won...see.
That's just the point, Dave, it might well be, but the process of explaining why is far too difficult without being able to demonstrate and I haven't the will so to do as we speak. There is an excellent reason for wanting the teams just above us to stay where they are, honest.

Matt.

Also, you leave the FS out of this, it's an excellent system.

As we cant rely on winning then if the teams around us don't get points then it obviously helps us !!! How much more simple does it have to be ! Can anybody see us getting nine points ? Er no then if other teams feck it up then hopefully it would help us !!!

Exactly, as said I get it, I have all the way along the more teams still in trouble the greater chance we have of staying up, but Accrington were already above us in the league before they won last night and by your own admission highlighted in red we stand little chance of winning enough games, that is why I say it is the 2 team below us we need to be worried about, not the teams above us, as you have alluded to, we stand little chance of catching them anyway, indeed it is simple.

You're quite right of course Dave. There's is zero point worrying about what teams above are doing, if we can't win ourselves. They are already above us. If all of the bottom 6 teams lose all their remaining games, we are one of those to go down. It's not longer about them, it's about us.

I went to watch us at Northampton so how come York come away with a 0-2 win?
Alan Knill says we can win our last three games, I really hope he's right.

At the risk of sounding cynical - he's hardly going to say that he thinks we are screwed and may as well give up now is he?!

...Chesterfield and Southend on Tuesday night need to do us a favour.
Whilst we need to beat Barnet it would be pretty helpful if Plymouth fall at Chesterfield while Southend end a winless run under Phil Brown at Aldershot.

Alan Knill is right. We can win our last three games. Whether we actually will is another matter. Because it has come down to this: if we win on Tuesday we can stay up; if we lose, we'll almost certainly go down. But in order to maximise our chances the team needs everyone's support.

So it's time for those (you know who you are) who have been whinging moaning and complaining about the team and about the players to shut up. The players themselves cannot be happy about the situation the team is in. They must be as unhappy as anyone. But all that must now be forgotten, because it's time now for hard graft and determination to win.

It's time for everyone who cares about the club to ask themselves if they really want BSP football here next season, or League Two football. If you're really not bothered, if you want to go on whinging and criticising, please go and do it somewhere else, nobody needs your negativity at this crucial time, so please stay away from this forum until the season's over.

Otherwise, turn up at Plainmoor on Tuesday and shout your hearts out for your team.

We all need to get behind the team on Tuesday night.
I have a feeling that playing on a Tuesday night gives us a big advantage. Even fewer Barnet fans are likely to have made the trip so it's our chance to monopolise the noise volume. :scarf: :goal: :scarf:
