Yes I now the type of policing from certain areas...A broken window is a major crime and a pursuit vehicle contains a horse !!

Can't believe Scotty was a copper though! I bet he had to retire due to there being no crime on an island of 4 people and a german shepherd! :~D :na:

I'm inclined to agree.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

I went to the game v Gillingham on Sept 12th 1970. I had to write to 'Shoot!' magazine cos the ref was soooo bad (nothing changes); I seem to remember that it was Alan Welsh lying injured & being judged to be 'offside' or something ludicrous. Apart from remembering the date, there was a joke shop near the ground & that's about all I recall; Devon was flooded when we got back, & all the soil from Farmer Fish's fields had washed down on to the main road back into Brixham. Not extremely helpful, but you said you wanted memories,

I bet it didn't get printed though? Why would it, we're a lower league club! :~D
Great stuff though taxilady and exactly the kind of stuff i wanted on here! Thanks so much.

The only thing I remember from my trip to the Gills is that we saw Wolf from Gladiators outside the ground in a flash sports car!

That sounded like it came straight from the mouth of Alan Partridge. :~D

Might have to revise this idea in the BSP. No one has any memories of going to Alfreton, Dartford and other small holes because we've never played there!!
At least there is still Grimsby, Lincoln, Macc, Barrow et al. Hurray!!!!

Been there a few times over the years, usually enjoying a pint in The Cricketers. Two away wins come to mind. A 2-0 victory when Dave Caldwell tore them apart and celebrated in front of their fans when getting the second near the end as they had given him stick all day.
The second was an excellent 90min display resulting in a 4-1 thrashing to the home side, not Gillingham but Brighton.
Havent been since thy have changed the ground.

Just make sure you don't arrive late at the ground. You wouldn't want to miss any of Torquay's goals..

And I'm not joking. Assuming that the Gulls' performance on Monday was a mere pothole on the road to ultimate glory, a consequence of too many Easter Eggs and hot cross buns (!), Gillingham are beatable.
They've won 5, drawn 1, and lost 3 of their home games this year. The draw was against York. They beat Northampton 2-0. All other home games ended in wins or defeats by an odd goal.
A win for them, with other results going their way, would mean they are promoted. But all their defeats this year have been at home. They will be a bag of nerves.
No better time to be playing them! Gills 1 Gulls 3.
