Could somebody please confirm/remind me:

If Portsmouth, who are still in administration, end up being dissolved/liquidated, how would that affect the promotion/relegation places at the end of the season? And particularly the League Two relegation spots? Would there be only one club relegated from League Two...?

Not sure wether the football league or the F.A would make that decision, and as far as I know nothing has been said in public what will be done should Portsmouth fail to get out of adminstration in time and lose there league status.

However any club in relegation truoble should not rely on this, as I believe the Porstmouth suppoters trust is still trying to buy the club.

It does piss me off when clubs such as Portsmouth have debts varying from £60 - 80 million can still carry on yet we play by the rules and pay our bills and end up worse off. Our wonderful neighbours have had about £20 million wiped off as if it doesn't matter. Whats the point of running a club in the right way ??
Our clubs should be run as they are in Germany where these situations could not happen.

Totally agree Dutchgull. Its cheating! I look forward to the time these clubs cease to be. Someone said Southend are in financial problems, I don't know if that is true but if it is there's another cheating club. Loads of strikers, good possibility of promotion but financial problems.

Always thought that, (the posters above) look at Bournemouth, how many times in administration? Swindon came out of administration last week, on transfer deadline day so they obviously found some money from somewhere, and signed three players. I know little of Swindons situation but I bet theres creditors still unpaid wound right up by Swndons expenditre of last week.

Portsmouth will never go bust, they've been 'saved' a zillion times already when they should have been wound up. It's only small clubs that go bust and get no 'favours'.

Thinking about it I guess its the same for other businesses. If you have debts over say 1m the banks don't bust you. Only small businesses go to the wall.

Actually I have no sympathy with the fans of these clubs either. They don't complain when the club is spend spend spend and getting results. We at TUFC are a bit more realistic IMHO.

I guess, but don't know, that traditional businesses are somewhat different. At least big businesses are viable entities, capable of turning round their fortunes by utilising one of a number of options. The thing with football clubs is that they lose their money because they pay crazy money. In a trad business, if it was losing money hand over fist, the answer wouldn't be to employ another half dozen guys earning £250,000/week.

Yes see that point Matt. I suppose that's why we get owners dreaming up weird and wonderful ways to finance clubs, Coventry being an example. What a mess, should go bust and if the fans are that keen do a Wimbledon AFC.

It is hard on the fans but this way a club who is run 'inappropriately' should get no chances and go bust and new phoenix clubs like AFC Wimbledon, like Chester, like FC Halifax Town et al can be formed by the fans of those clubs who went bust.

In addition it may make the pathetic, not fit for purpose football league board to do something effective about it if many established clubs like Cov, Blackburn, Pompey etc go to the wall as it will ruin their 'product' and devalue the football league if loads went bust.

There should be no administration, no points deducted. If you can't pay your bills then f*ck off and let another team replace you who can.
