Atieno wasn't THAT bad. Not the greatest player we've had by any stretch but we've had loads worse. As a backup player to play 10-15 games a season he did ok. That's the role Logan would fill if he was to sign for us, he's better than Atieno so hopefully we could rely on him a bit more than we could with Tai.

That really is a tallest dwarf competition.

He was their top scorer the year before last and despite reduced playing time this year still scored more goals than any of their 'striker' signings.

Logan isn't a great player, never has been but he'll chip in with a few goals here and there and if we lost Rene then I'd feel more comfortable with Logan playing than I would Atieno or Jarvis as a lone striker.
Find me someone who isn't.

Just being honest, when I first heard this link to Logan, didn't really know what to think, he can score goal's no doubt, however he is 30 now, and another player who has lost his way,in his career.

Not sure we have room for another, not 30 years old anyway, on to the point, been away at a weekend football tournament bumped into a couple of lads I know well from Pinhoe fc, both greek's, told them about Logan being linked to us, both without prompting fell about laughing.

One of them said "you turks can have him" the other said "we have had the best out of him " When I asked about his pace, the answer was "yep he is very quick, when running to the bar for a pint" other wise he is a slow coach.

That said I take Dave S/G and Chris CP gull's point about him being local and fitting our budget, all I can see is if he is signed all we can do as fan's is make him feel welcome and support him.

And of course any more signings in that department could well be dependent on whether ling can offload Chris the boy Mcphee and serial texter Lloyd Macklin. That isn't going to be an easy task either.
What time of the year do farmers plough their fields? - carthorses might be in demand then.

I cannot honestly see Logan signing because we have signed Jarvis - I mean do we really need two more crap strikers.

Logan would be a really dull signing and potentially upset the camp. I expect Ling to use the loan market for a quick young forward who would better compliment Rene/not be overly expectant to start every match.

If he's not good enough for Exeter he's not good enough for us.. ;-)

I wouldn't be too thrilled with Logan signing. From what I remember of him, he wasn't overly quick, was lazy, and involved in the infamous 'new years eve-gate' involving Martin McNeil and Christian Hanson.

I'd be quite underwhelmed by him signing for us.

Jon Shaw scored 56 goals in 97 games for Gateshead. In fact he scored 50 in his first 80 games .
How often do we sign a prolific goal scorer? Very rarely.
One thing for sure there are a lot of pros looking for new clubs.
Martin seems a shrewd guy and hopefully he will surprise us but the budget means no name players.
Neil Mellor at Preston North End has just retired having played about 10 games in 3 seasons at a cost of £350,000 per season!!

Jon Shaw is available on a free. He must be worth a look.

Logan hasn't 'electric' speed. But instead has what i would describe as 'handy' pace.

Quicker than Rene? Definitely.
Quicker than Macklin? No.
