After having a conversation about this a while back with someone who worked in the "Big Screen Business" as he once put it, it was quite interesting how quick money can be made back. These figures are from 3 or 4 years back and have probably changed since then (lowered, at least)
A screen can cost anywhere between about £10,000 up to around £1,000,000 - depending on screen size, resolution and whether it was HD. (I guess now it would be 3D) Supposedly, anything over about £200,000 usually ends up going to Dubai or Las Vegas, rarely many other places.
He wouldn't tell me how much individual screens cost, but supposedly the Wembley ones paid for themselves within 5 England home games (About a year at a guess). Big Premiership clubs can earn the money back in around 6 months and smaller clubs like us are likely to take between a year and two years.
