If I remember right. That was the penalty miss that spawned the Torqauy Fanzine called "Bambers right foot".

Hands down the best atmosphere and pre/post match entertainment I've been part of.

From the drinking of cider at half seven in the morning at Daves house, waking up his son by screaming out football songs at the top of our voices, driving up to London in a minibus, singing our arses off, meeting everybody at the green man pub, the march down to Wembley, walking through the Cambridge fans who parted like the Red Sea, the match itself - Greavsie's cracking goal, Sills dressed like Zorro with a bullet header after an inch perfect cross from Wayne Carlisle (oh how we miss him), the trophy presentation, the walk back and celebration in the pub afterwards and then the long drive back to Southampton.

What a f**k ing day!!!!
You beat me to it, Scott - I was about to post this (not the cider drinking - the match!). I was at the match at the time we were cursed with Roberts when it finally became mathematically impossible to stay in the league. As an old git, I walked away from Plainmoor that Sarurday with a lump in my throat cos I didn't expect to see us playing league football again in my lifetime. And there we were at Wembley - Wayne's cross, Tim's head ..... 2 - 0. What an amazing feeling. Another moment I remember about that game which didn't seem to get much of a mention was an incredible save by Michael Poke when the score was 1 - 0. It looked as if the ball was going in but somehow he arched backwards and tipped it over the bar.

The other game that will always stay in the memory was also at Wembley when we beat Blackpool in a Division 2 (probably Div 3 back then) play off. Not only did we win, it was a great match. We won on penalties when Bamber, the Blackpool striker, put his penalty wide. I remember doing a spontaneous dance with the guy sitting next to me who I'd never seen before in my life (I was much younger then !!). :-/

Too many memories there but there were several that caught the eye. Forest Green with Sillsy in goal. we didn't just win but Sillsy pulled off a great save, right in front of me.
winning at Wembley. more than once.
beating Exeter. Plymouth. Rovers after PB left. oh my I will sleep well tonight with those going round in my mind.
Years ago. Plainmoor full in the 60's so many I can't even begin to list them.
Wallaping Wolves on their own turf. West ham too.

It was a footballing lesson, and a hell of a good one. That season provided so many memorable days, remember 1500 turning up at Yeovil as we turned them over, Cheltenham, Southend (of course!), remember little Jo banging in a late winner at Swansea's old place, just a fantastic season all round, topped off in the best way possible with the Southend game. Remember getting to Fleet services that day and it was all yellow.

Cheltenham 2004 was an amazing day out. Arrived in Chelts at 12pm and the town was awash with Yellow, marched to the ground en mass on a gloriously sunny day, packed into a tiny away terrace to watch a footballing lesson be handed out. Steve Woods bullet header right in front of us. Ecstasy. Followed up by promotion at Roots Hall 14 days later as 2500 Torquay fans invaded Essex. Glory days. A priveledge to be a witness to.

I was at both the Cheltenham game and the Kiddy game Nick. I'd forgotten about the Kiddy win. Zebs was on fire that day!

Didn't go to the 5-4 game though I was at the PO match at Histon. Also went to the 5-2 at Kiddy which was possibly the only time I've seen us score 5 away from home!

Nothing for me will displace the 3-1 win at Cheltenham in 2004, now that was a class above everything I've seen since.

When we beat Argyle at Home Park, for 20 minutes in that second half we played football on a different level and were streets ahead of Argyle. What a day out that was.

Equally as enjoyable, and equally as personal were the wins at The Gas and at Crawley, they were amazing and proud days to be a fan of TUFC

Andy rightly mentions our 3-0 win at Crewe, we could have scored 10 that day and Crewe barely got out of their half, we annihilated them and played some fluid, free throwing football every bit as appetising as the Leroy days.

Equally, we beat Rochdale 4-2 last year but until Downes got himself sent off we were running riot and could easily have accumulated a cricket score. For 30 minutes it was chance after chance and a joy to watch.

Going back a little bit the away leg at Shrewsbury was a tremendous atmosphere and a thoroughly professional team performance on the pitch to match.

We went to the Kassam under Bucks and took the p**s for 80 minutes with 10 men. We played possession football and looked like we had a man advantage, not disadvantage such was our confidence that night.

The Shrewsbury 5-0 too was memorable, from the moment Grandison got his marching orders for trying to decapitate Jake Robinson we took them to the cleaners, 5-0 flattered them if i remember correctly.

Plenty to look back on with fondness, and thats just in the last 4 years, TUFC; i bloody loves it.
