Ideal first game would be a home game against a side who will bring more fans because it's opening day. Someone like Oxford, and the gate would probably be at least 1k higher than if it was in November.

In the cup, someone big away or someone rubbish at home.

I'd just like to avoid the usual 'get a Championship club in first cup game, play valiantly but get knocked out'. It's kinda the perennial opposite to our FA Cup campaigns, which go 'get a lower league club, play terribly, get knocked out'. Cup runs can bring in lots of cash, attract new supporters to the club, and generally give a season a big lift; for a club like us, progressing a little further in a cup could go a LONG way.

I would love to get Reading away, not just because it is one of the few grounds right next to me but most of the people here are Reading fans and the small chance that we did nick a result i would go on about for the rest of their lives- would love it!

ive been to the vasa one too andy (and fratton park a few times watching dirty leeds, fat boy quinn scored 3 once!!) and what a spectacular sight it is too! cant imagine the mary rose would be as good, its not in stockholm for a start!! great city

I'd really love to visit the Mary Rose museum in Pompey so i'm definately going to make a real effort to get to Fratton Park for our game next season regardless of if it's a night game or a weekend game. Never been to Pompey but i call on our expert Mr Dave SG to offer me some tourist tips on things to see and do. The Mary Rose museum looks incredible. I visited the Vasa museet on a holiday to Stockholm a few years ago, it is an old galleon type warship pulled from the bottom of the Baltic and preserved for all to see in a vast cavernous museum. If the Mary Rose experience is anything like that then i cannot wait for my trip to the south coast.

Well based on that then we should be hoping to get Plymouth or Exeter!
