I know these things take time, but the silence from the club is a little worrying for me. A statement keeping the fans updated wouldn't go amiss in my eyes - have we interviewed anyone? Do we have a shortlist? That kind of thing - doesn't need to name names, but just reassure supporters that things are happening.

I was hoping for a quick appointment - 2 critical games this week where we need points to avoid being truly cast adrift. Of course, happy to wait for the right person but we can't wait forever

I also hope Merse is right and by the direct way he stated it I think he is.

And please if we do employ "an experienced" manager can we at least give him a chance please. And not slag him off before he even starts.

I will predict that I wont be a manager with the cv of Alex Ferguson so don't expect it. It will most probably be someone with a chequered history, that's why he will be available, but please lets all get behind whoever it is.

Come on this is Torquayfans.com we are talking about - be realistic!

Any manager would be taking a gamble moving to Torquay unless he can sign a few more players.

Hello all. Haven't been a member on here for about a million years (can't even remember my old username) but have always kept up to speed. Good to see you still going strong, Merse...

Anyway, apologies if this has been posted but did you see this from the NLP?

Richard Money hungry for new challenge

The old lags are always the best!

The most important quality needed by the new manager will be the ability to "manage" his managers. If he can't manage Osborne and Harrop he will be doomed from the start regardless of what football management experience he has.

:goodpost:

And any new experienced manager coming in, has probably been a failure at his previous club. :)

That's the spirit, let's piss on the fire before the guy has even been appointed

I actually come in here when I'm depressed. It helps me realise there are people with a far bleaker outlook on life than me. Cheers me up.

Well kevgull I don't think you can say Richard Money was a failure at Cambridge United.
