So two more players go out the door with nobody yet announced as replacements - surely getting players in before you let others go is better.
1. Potential signings will see players leaving - sounding alarm bells.
2. Current players may follow suit "abandoning ship"

In regard to Wade Fairhurst, he has had a pretty miserable time at TUFC and this family bereavement is probably the last straw. Good luck to him at a difficult time.

However, Steve Breed comes on to the forum for the first time in ages to tell people to back off, fair enough.............but is completely unsighted when there is a need for transparency and information.

The next four days wont decide our season but it will give fans an insight into what the future plans (if there are any) are.

Very good post earlier mentioning the next Home gate being below 1000. Definitely possible but extremely sad.

Would we be the first club in history to simply see all the players leave mid-season? I can't believe it's happened before.

Matt.

We currently have 7 (8 including Luke young) who were with us on the opening day, kind of sums up how precarious the situation is. Ran like a proper part time club, this is the sort of stuff that happens at southern league level often.

I always try and be supportive and objective with regards to everyone involved in the process of keeping Torquay in the National League, Steve and David came to the club at a very difficult time and encountered a can of worms from what I could see. To date they have managed to stabilise the situation and have been very supportive of Kevin, who is in his first job as a manager and balancing playing at the same time.

I have said a few times on here, getting all the variants right would be a huge challenge, I would say David and Steve need to be rewarded for their support of Kevin by results, this is by no means a pop at Kevin, he will have the same mind-set and did say “I know we can’t keep on saying it and we have to go out there and prove it". He is correct and its the harsh reality of management and I wish him much success as I know its challenging at the moment, out of adversity can come great managers, only time will tell and even though we all get frustrated,we still need to support the club through this difficult period.

When, sometime in the future, the official obituary of Torquay United is written, one of the major factor in the demise (seen from an historical perspective and not obvious at the time) will be the continual draining away of players from the club during the season when all the 120 years of hopes and dreams finally ended in a whimper. To note - yet again - players leaving (did Fairhurst ever turn out in anger for TUFC?) half way through the season is another danger sign. Unfortunately the danger signs have been ignored (wilfully or not) and now the harvest (such as it is) is being reaped. That harvest is, in the short term, certain relegation (don't kid yourselves, this has been obvious since early September), and in the long-term complete oblivion in a regional league and, finally, when TUFC is relegated from National South, the final underlining of the books, the final flag furled, and the final door locked forever. And to think Robin Stubbs played for United!

Damn right, our team is Ass about face. I thought teams were built firstly with a solid defence. We have been leaking goals all season and all that is happening is we are bringing in forward after forward. We are not going to out score teams.
Why are we not recruiting maybe a descent defender or possibly the best centre midfielder we can afford. We need to stop conceding goals before we are ever going to win a game.

There is no way we will get below 1000. That would have happened before Christmas if it was going to happen.

How can you get people in without getting people out of door who are on a contract or a wage?! Money is tight without adding to the wage bill. Yes, the players fund has helped but we have also had to move players on in order for us to bring in.
