So if Mr X goes to the club and says he has £10k/£15k to invest, how far would that go and what would he/we get for the money?

Would this merely go towards the players fund, or would such a contribution progress beyond that?

Although not a club-saving amount of cash, it's still a decent wodge of ££.

Have the board specified how much ideally a new investor needs to come in with?

Would it just be a 'Thanks for the cash'?

I'm guessing but I rekon 10k wouldnt touch the sides
50k might buy you in, but then that would soon turn into needing to put more money in

Whether it's you or someone you know, my suggestion would be to call Steve Breed and ask for a meeting, he will be able to tell you how the club would use the £10-15 k

10000 is peanuts.. be gone before cheque clears. ..I'm not expert but we are needs a investment running into a few 100k

Is this post with regards to the competition Marathon Bet are doing? The #nonleaguechallenge would be a great way for Torquay to try and get some extra money, granted we have to score first, but surely we have nothing to lose by just giving it a go?

If 1500 supporters each put £10 a month (or £2.50 a week) into the Players Fund (a few of us already do), the club would have £15k within a month, and about £180k within a year..

If 2000 supporters each put £10 a month (or £2.50 a week) into the Players Fund (a few of us already do), the club would have £20k within a month, and about a quarter of a million pounds within a year..

I'm not sure what the benefit would be of donating to TUST, they are not donating any money to the club.

You've highlighted the problem in your post - there are too many funds! You have the standard TUST and lottery, plus the Yellow Forever fund. Now you have a players' fund which means money is being split between these pots. If there was one big fund called 'Keep the club alive' or something along those lines where all money donated basically helps the club survive and compete then that may be more attractive for fans. Obviously that relies on the TUST and the club working together but that bond seems to be getting stronger.

Different board then, though. In fact, just goes to show how much money was being thrown into black holes by the previous owners, and how much work the new board have had to do.

This is why I have said at least 3 times before and a poster started a thread after me that a supporters share scheme would be a really good fund raising tool for the club as well as bringing the club and fanbase closer together.

Long term it could be more of an earner than a players fund because as a few people have expressed to me in conversation the asking for money for basically what is a charity on top of season tickets or matchday entrance plus programmes, merchandise or food etc is a bit cheeky (or words to that effect, some a bit blue). Cant blame the club for trying, they have to explore every avenue, but some did find it a bit of an insult.

A share scheme would be giving fans something for their money or at least make them think they are getting something even though it doesnt really mean sod all, but the feelgood factor and sense of being part of things could encourage more giving of funds. The club needs "investment" so even just a start would be to ask quite a few people for a bit of money at a time rather than having no luck persuading a few people to part with a lot of money.
