Anyone know why we have no assistant manager yet or has anyone been mentioned/approached?

from the WMN :
Judgment time for new Torquay United manager Kevin Nicholson
By Western Morning News | Posted: October 08,
“I need to get the right people in the building and make sure that the environment is right because if I can get that right, I will be fairly happy. But it will take another week or two to get that right.â€
It remains to be seen in what areas Nicholson is keen to strengthen, but with money so tight at Plainmoor, he will have to wheel and deal to bring in the type of players and characters that he wants.
A number two is also high on his list of priorities and the United boss is hopeful of announcing someone as his assistant soon.
“I am hoping to announce it soon, probably not before Saturday, unless I get very lucky, so probably early next week,†he said. “It would be nice to have someone in before the Woking game if I could and it’s the same with a loan signing.

I did read somewhere that Nicho wanted someone local, not someone who will be commuting from far away.
Not sure what experience there is around these parts? Most names mentioned during the manager recruitment where the likes of Joyce and Tully or Redknapp and Warnock - two ends of the spectrum but maybe a coach at City or Argyle is looking for a step up to end in command?

Crazy how he hasn't already got an assistant in, in my opinion.

Especially given that he has decided that he is the best left back we have and, therefore, is on the pitch instead of managing the team on the sidelines.

....... and especially as John Ramsden generously offered to stay at Plainmoor until an assistant was appointed. Surely JR's experience, and knowledge of the players, could have been of some help?

We just look lost on the sidelines. All we have is Kenny who struggles with numbers and the other guy who hides under his hat. Tomorrow will be the third game without an experienced assistant and we may even go to Woking without one as well, just seems barmy.

Better the right appointment than a quick one.

Who was his assistant when running the 5 a side at Newton Abbot? Not cryptic but just part of a conversation that was overheard last week.
