TULFC - Gullettes - The Ladies

Post by torq2u »

Having been on course for the runners'-up spot, following a heavy defeat at Bridgwater the ladies are also looking likely to end the season in the bottom half of their league. :(

I notice that Laura Gough and Hayley Chamberlain haven't featured recently and the goals have dried up. Can't find much in the way of news or match reports. Anyone out there shed any light?

Laura and Hayley left the club a few weeks ago-don't know why.

Don't want to read too much into twitter because twitter is so often a rather silly thing. But have seen some things on there recently that indicate pretty clearly there's something going on within that group right now that is decidedly not good. Hope they get it sorted, seems a bit messy at the moment.

I do know they don't have a goalkeeper at the moment. So that's certainly problematic.

Is the ladies team continuing ? I just noticed several of their players have signed for Buckland Athletic ladies.

With those players leaving it looks like the " fallout " at the end of last season has not healed.

I really, really hope not.
What sort of community asset are we going to be with just a senior mens team of players from 'up country'?

Okay, so according to the Ladies OS, http://www.tulfc.co.uk/club/289340/News/view/890014, they are having trials on 1st July so I guess they are continuing. I'm not sure it cost much anyway as I think all the players had to pay subs for the privilege of playing...

I was told directly that the players who don't want to be there or aren't good enough, won't be. It's quite a rebuild where at least 7 players have left. They are holding summer trials. On a side note - the new board do not pay for the women's team- this is paid for by sponsors of the players.
