Gulls Player

Post by Dave_Pougher »

My email,

"My gulls player access has been poor almost permanently. The last two weeks both concerning games between Wrexham and Torquay have been totally un-accessible. You are very prompt in taking my standing order however. Unless I receive details of a rebate for this matter within two weeks of this message I shall be canceling my subscription and standing order."

Their response,

"Hi David,

Thank you for your email.

I do understand your concern and we apologise for the inconvenience that is being caused. I have reviewed your email and confirm that the last week match between Wrexham and Torquay was postponed due water logged pitch.

Also, we can confirm that the next match for Torquay FC is on Tuesday March 03, 2015.

If the issue persists on the upcoming match then please contact us immediately so that we can look into this.

Best regards

Not sure whether to laugh or cry at that.

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for your email.

We sincerely apologise for the issue you have faced during today's match.

We have raised the issue to the relevant team to have it resolved.

It doesn't contain the hilarity or incompetence of the response to you Dave, but this is the response I got to an email I sent this evening bemoaning the lack of quality of the service I'm paying for. God knows where they are based or what hours they work, I got that email at 10pm. I have a feeling that nothing will change.

True.

I think Roberts or Phillips sent that to you Dave.

The template and maintenance is obviously set, but we have control over content.

For today's match as an example, Wrexham were not able to have a tab for the FA Trophy, but still managed to have an online commentary via the homepage, which was advertised in advance.

Gulls Player had no commentary at all.

Sweet Jesus...the ineptitude is just mind-boggling.

With all the games being theoretically available on the BBC site now there really is no reason to keep Gulls Player anyway. Only sheer laziness has kept me from cancelling it. Should probably take the 30 seconds to do that.
