Bournemouth line up.
Interesting cherries line up.
Included ex Gulls Eunon O Kane, Bailey Cargill and Brixham boy Dan Gosling.

And former loanee to us, Adam Smith.
Shows where Bournemouth's priorities lie, none of these players are regular starters in the league, none of them started the game yesterday for Bournemouth, makes me wonder also, if Bournemouth are promoted will they retain Eunan O'Kane.

O'Kane hasn't figured for some time not even on the bench. Is he out of favour or injured? With the Cherries virtually promoted is Eunan likely to be sold? If so we could benefit from the sell-on clause. Might prove handy for the manager's playing budget. Pretty unlikely to return here despite CH's Bournemouth connections!forevertufc wrote:Shows where Bournemouth's priorities lie, none of these players are regular starters in the league, none of them started the game yesterday for Bournemouth, makes me wonder also, if Bournemouth are promoted will they retain Eunan O'Kane.
Anyway congratulations to them on achieving a football miracle especially after almost going out of business in 2008. Just shows what can be achieved after bad times!

O'Kane has been injured for the last few months. Was on the receiving end of a horror tackle that ended his season. The sell-on clause could be a pretty handy extra if he does move on. They have plenty of money and can see them spending quite a bit this summer.

I believe O'Kane also signed a 3 and half year deal at the end of last season, so really, if he doesn't want to leave, they can't really make him.

I saw Bournemouth lose 2-1 in the cup at Villa, O'Kane was close to being the best player on the pitch, I don't think they will even consider selling him, unless they are getting a load of loan players in from Inter, PSG, etc.

O'Kane is with a club about to play in the Premier League next season. He would be mad to want to leave them now. When he returns from injury and plays to his full ability and eventually signs for (e.g.) Barcelona or whoever, then any sell-on clause could be a lifesaver for the Gulls. Can anybody remind me what sort of percentage might be coming our way if that happens?

I dont know what the percentage is. but having now become a premiership player without hardly kicking a ball due to injury his value has just rocketed

I believe it's 15%. There was speculation back in January 2014 (by that on the daily BBC newspaper gossip column) that Villa were lining up a £3m bid for him. It would have netted us 450k! No doubt that he'll figure next season once he's back to full fitness. He got MOTM in the cup against Liverpool.
