A new season about to start

I am actually excited by this season in the conference, new teams, new grounds and a new challenge.

Don't really know how to predict it as there are so many unknowns. BUT my feeling is we will finish about 8th. I think our first 11 will be competitive but could suffer if we get a few injuries to one of 5 or 6 key players. Same will be true to other teams as well and this could be a factor for success or failure.

I have been quietly impressed with CH over the last month or so. Some good signings at this level. The big problem was always going to be the 4 or 5 players from last season who are just not up to it. We were always going to struggle to offload these as the contracts they have are too good and who else will pay them that much. This is not Chris Hargreaves fault, but was always going to limit what he could do this season. So I won't be too critical this year, given its not a relegation battle again which it shouldn't be.

What I don't want is the club to get into further debt, as that is a road to oblivion. We have what we have and if we can somehow loan out 1 or 2 of the players who cost too much maybe we can get a couple of full backs.

So..... Let's get behind the team and especially the new lads, let's give them the confidence that ALL sportsman need to perform well. Did you watch the commonwealth games, confidence is key, many great performances and great stories of competitors who raised there game with personal best performances. We can be a part of that and give the team the support ( even if things are not going well) they need.

I'm not expecting too much, but hopefully looking forward to some exciting football and at least be competitive in most games. Enjoy folks!
