How much longer do people think we will cling on to our league status? I thought I'd start a totally meaningless poll to see what people think. I've a feeling it will be after a rare draw against Dagenham & Redbridge. It would be horrible for it to happen at home as it would be in front of gloating opposing supporters at Bristol Rovers or Exeter so my favoured option (other than the fantasy one of survival) would be to somehow stay in there until the Mansfield game away.

I have - for a long time - expected it to be at Exeter. Just has that inevitability about it.

Dagenham game for me, don't think we'll Saturday, just think other results will prolong it for a few more days.

I think it will be Dagenham. I hope it will be Saturday and they can finally put us out of our misery, but it will be prolonged for a week and then it will be another Hereford at home. I will never, ever, ever forget that game against Hereford in 2007 when we were relegated for the first time to the conference. In the dying moments of the game, we were pushing incredibly hard to get a goal, Paul Bastard was going mental down the end I was standing. The game ended with the referee's final whistle, the whole ground went completely silent for a full second after a cry of "NOOOOOO!" from Paul. It was like time stood still. I will never forget that moment.

To be fair we already relegated before that match.

Yep, if memory serves me right, relegation was confirmed after a 1.1 home draw with Peterborough, could hear a pin drop in the ground when the final whistle blew.

There is a reasonable chance it could be on Saturday.

Bristol Rovers should beat us and I'd rather they did, if all winning is going to do is prolong the agony. That would mean that at the most we could get 48 points (if we lose to Rovers).

Wycombe would have to win away at Newport, which I guess is not beyond them, meaning we couldn't catch them, Rovers would get the points against us and mean we cannot catch them, while Exeter would need to beat Cheltenham to put their points total beyond us.

It would leave Morecambe and Portsmouth needing just a point in their games away at Fleetwood and Dagenham respectively, although such is goal difference we couldn't catch them anyway, so whilst it would not be confirmed (if one of them lost) there would be absolutely no way back. Essentially, three results on Saturday - for Wycombe, Exeter and Bristol Rovers, will condemn us.

If Hargreaves still bangs on about fighting after that, then perhaps he is as daft as some are trying to make out. Part of me hopes that sequence of results does happen, just to get all done and dusted, although I suppose I still have a faint hope Exeter may come down with us.

I believe it was back in July.
In the friendly against Tiverton, in what looked a strong line up Tivvy looked the better side throughout the game.
I was pessimistic for the rest of the season from then on.

Judging by the record so far, it will be the Bristol Rovers game. But, while there's life there's hope. Never give up. If you're going to go down, go down fighting. On the other hand, survival is still possible. Stranger things do happen. There was a tsunami in Wales a few centuries ago.
