Press release:

TORQUAY UNITED PRESS RELEASE
Friday, February 14, 2014
WILKINSON SIGNED
UNITED have signed striker Conor Wilkinson in a one-month loan deal from Bolton Wanderers.

He has previously been on loan at Chester City and will be available to United manager Chris Hargreaves for the big game at Chesterfield tomorrow.

How many strikers do we have now? And the chances are we still won't be scoring goals...

Given that none of them are scoring, clearly not enough.

But we need more than strikers who can score; we also need the other players to put some decent crosses and passes in to the strikers..

Strikers that stay onside would be a bonus too.

Wilkinson? If he gets game time will he put Chesterfield to the sword? And be a cut above our other 'strikers'? :~D

Could this lad be a striker that can stay on side, stay on his feet and score a goal, if so, then yes please.

I have spoken to a friend who is a Bolton fan, this lad is highly though of within the Bolton ranks. Apparently is a very solid target man with an eye for goal. Was a target for some premier league clubs, but opted for Bolton with the promise of first team football (which didn't emerge) my mate has watched him for Bolton reserves and says he is very decent footballer.

Having this loan player in is a two-edged sword. It's out with the old guard, in with the 'en garde'. He may be keen, but for how long will he retain his sharpness in the cut and thrust of League Two football..?? Will we need more fencing around the pitch..??

I'd better stop there... :)
