.... It would appear that some people have got their wish! The Rendell loan deal appears to have fallen through, despite the fact that the Herald were reporting a couple of days ago that Greavsie was "really happy to have them (Rendell and Stevens) on board". Not sure why it has fallen through although I guess money probably had something to do with it, whether that be on the part of Luton, TUFC or the player himself.

Thread is fine CP!
Perhaps positive news of another striker means he was suppliment to requirements? In the harse world of football was Rendell lined up as a sort of insurance policy?

My guess is 'deal has fallen through' = 'now surplus to requirements'.

Shame to read this. And if he's been cast aside as 'no longer needed' I think it's a bad decision. He did well for us previously and was capable of doing so again - and a short term deal now might have led to something more permanent - whatever division we 're in next season. Instead we've opted for yet another quick fix loan deal - for a player that will likely be here for no more than a month. The previous manager was criticised for this tactic. How do we expect to form any kind of team spirit when the changing room has new faces on a weekly basis?

I'm guessing it all comes down to money. The new lad is probably costing us next to nowt. With Cooper brought in and a plethora of strikers already at the club I guess it was a case of 'not needed' maybe if we could have found someone to take one of our own squad players...

I guess we'll see if the budget stretches as far as Stevens - because that would be a far greater waste of cash. Seems like a waste if everyone's time to have him here for this long with no real intention to sign him? Sure he appreciates it.

Do you genuinely see Stevens as a signing who will make a difference? - in a way I could see that Rendell might make some sense.
The consensus seems to be that the overwhelming majority don't see him as being the answer.

Contract cancelled by Luton and signed for Woking until end of the season.
