Suggestions on Twitter that he might be heading our way on an initial 1 month loan. Seems like a strange move (on the part of Portsmouth) given our respective positions? Ertl was their Player of the Year last season and their captain to boot. He can play in a number of positions. .. right back, centre half and as a holding midfielder so almost a "clone" of Shaun Cooper you would think! He certainly has good experience and a decent pedigree but can only imagine the move would be temporary as he is only 6 months into a 3 year deal there and presumably is one of their higher earners.

Unless we're buying him I can't see any truth in this. Fans Player of the Year last year and 21 appearances so far this season. Unless they've are signing a load of better players and Ertl is going to be surplus to requirements.

He has been out of the side this past month and may not be in the new Manager's (Richie Barker) plans?

Who on twitter CP? As decent a player as he is are we not already well catered for in these positions?

If he's better than what we already have then.... And, with Mackenzie gone and our centre-halves not playing as well as we know they can maybe some more competition in the defence is what the manager feels we need.
If we can get him I think it would be a great signing. At 31 he still has some playing time left and with experience in higher leagues he could be just the quality that Greavsie is looking for.

It's an unofficial Portsmouth news twitter account called @PompeyNewsNow .... scroll down to yesterday's tweets and it's there. There are a few Pompey fans that seem to be pleased with this (potential) development while others are questioning the wisdom of allowing him to join a relegation rival. There may be nothing in it, but you never know....

Interesting none-the-less. If true then at a guess may be he doubts Lathrope in this role?
Anyway - I am hoping more for some breaking news on a strikers arrival (with no knowledge that this is in anyway likely!).

Not a lot of love from him on a Pompey forum. They seem to have seen the same thing CP has:

Nothing in it, it would seem according to a retweet on that feed. Probably not what we need now anyway and judging by the majority of comments on their forum, it doesn't sound as though he's up to much anyway!

Fans POTY last year, now treated as though he might be Fred West's drinking buddy. Can he really have fallen apart that badly? Was he just the least smelly turd in a big vat of turds last year? Who knows. Either way, I don't think he'll bring much to the table. We need a bloody reliable striker, not yet another midfielder who doesn't mind chipping in in defence. This is starting to look like a Sunday League side, just a bunch of blokes who turn up and play anywhere.
Matt.

Just starting to? We have been like that all season, since your mate Knill caused such damage.
