There is a man in England today...

Who believes that inclement weather is caused by homosexuality.

That's right, there is an adult man, with a house, a driving license, a wife, a dog, a tv and a DFS sofa, a man who shops at Sainsbury's and goes to the pub on Friday lunchtimes and watches MOTD and wears jeans and orders Chinese food. He seems normal, totally ordinary. He works as an MP (for UKIP, who else) and his hobbies include photography and spending time with his grandchildren. Yet, in his mind, every time it rains, he thinks "dammit, those bloody queers are at it again".

How? I mean, think about that for a minute. It's 2014 and this man lives, most unremarkably, among us, yet he thinks that the sexual preference of strangers might, somehow, be responsible for the prevailing meteorological conditions.

I'm struggling with this, if I'm honest.

Should also point out that, as well as being UKIP, he's also a committed Christian. If ever a piece of information wasn't a surprise...

Matt.

Plenty of people still believe that men have walked on the moon, why does this one individual stir your interest?

Oh, because he's a UKIP member!

Every political party has its share of idiots. Matt seems to have missed the fact that UKIP have suspended this one. By the way Matt, it's 'licence' not 'license'. Oh, and the earth is flat.. :)

Thankfully Matt tacked on at the end that this guy is a committed Christian. Because it is surely more accurate to say that 'the man in England' believes the inclement weather has been caused by God and not by homosexuality ? My understanding is that the homosexuality is the cause of God's annoyance, which is being indicated to us via the floods etc, if I'm reading this story right.

The claim that this guy is an MP is also an untruth.

Quite right.

Except that the inclement weather is actually caused, if it's caused by anything, by a cyclical period of inactivity on the sun's surface and an absence of solar flares, which has also brought an end, at least temporarily, to global warming, and may actually bring about, in a few years' time, a new mini ice age.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/ ... lunge.html

Or by the weather making machines in northern America ;-)

It's also possible that UK farmers receiving EU subsidies are to blame: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... storm.html

This doesn't make me feel a whole lot better, really. If God was really..you know..goddish..at all, and didn't like gay people, surely he'd stop making so many of them.

It's a fact that a far higher proportion of gay people are born to heterosexual parents, so clearly it's all the fault of straight people anyway.

It's just an accident of nature, like being born with cerebral palsy, or whatever. Nothing to do with God, nor for that matter the devil, and it's pointless to blame God or anyone or anything. The important things in life are how we deal with whatever and whoever life brings our way, and how we live with our fellow human beings.

I am a commited Christian Matt. as you well know. but even I have more sense than to think that gays cause our matches to be called off or Dawlish to be devastated by the high seas.
Besides. I thought the rain was caused by the sky leaking. after all, if you look up at night you can see millions of holes.
