Great Storm

Worst storm for 25 years could well be heading for South-West on Sunday night/Monday morning.
Winds of 80-90 miles an hour predicted.Serious weather warning issued. Could be as bad as 1987-the one Michael Fish said had "no chance of happening".
Remember walking in Paignton early in the morning then, just as the storm reached its peak. The wind nearly blew me of my feet and a big tree, just off Dartmouth Road, came down in a matter of seconds;following an almighty gust.
Batten down the hatches!

To be fair to the guy, what he said was that there was no chance of a hurricane, but that strong winds were forecast so best batten down the hatches.
He wasn't wrong - but everybody only ever remembers the "no chance of a hurricane" bit.

Well. The wind is winding up here a bit. trousers are safe for a while. Oh sorry wrong wind.
Ok start again.
Wind is winding up here a bit. Fencing is clattering a bit and there are a few bits and peices flying around the garden and down the road. But other than that, it's still mild if not warm Still ain't got the heating on yet. hows it where you are.

If you'd paid attention at school, you could have been indoors, like all the smart kids are now...

As for the "big storm", as usual, the weather men were talking a load of old shit. I was outside watching the women's game earlier and it rained a bit and it was a bit windy. Load of old bollocks.
Matt.

Matt, I did listen at school, I had no choice it was a Grammar school with the cane in place! Took GCEs
(without the S)when they were actually quite hard as well. AND William Hague was in the year below me (he was already a snivelling shit back then!!!) but I wanted to do stuff other than sit on my arse all day. I love my current job, it might just be a bit airy tomorrow.........
