Jak McCourt
Jak McCourt
Can't see it here but it seems we have signed him on loan from Leicester. Midfielder.

Thanks for sticking with us Nathan, but your work (what little you managed to do through no fault of your own) is done here.

Yes - and also Damon Lathrope. Because of Harding's enforced absence, I was looking forward to seeing Damon given the chance of a few games to show what he can do, but it seems not. Best to get your agent on the job to look somewhere else, Damon, where you will be given a chance.Scott Brehaut wrote:Thanks for sticking with us Nathan, but your work (what little you managed to do through no fault of your own) is done here.

Hoping he could be as good as Labadie when he came!

You can get excited about new signings if you wish but as we've already seen this season, they aren't always the answer when there are decent players at the club who aren't being given a chance. But I have to agree that if he's anything like Josh Labadie, I will be won over.PlainmoorRoar wrote:also a new signing and MORE moaning

Well I will always welcome new players to the club. Anyone any idea on the length of the loan? Long term or a gap filler before the myth officially signs?
Mods - Any chance we could have the transfer in/out thread updated with these signings, it's quite good to be able to keep track...

Allow me to start por favor,Scott Brehaut wrote: Where's the moaning?
It is obviously a load of bollo##s that the club is short of money as Knill is allowed to sign a cr#p team in the summer, & then sign as many loan players as he likes to try & get himself out of the sh#t. I would not have complained if he had signed a central defender to cover the injuries, but there are two very good midfielders at the club that he does not know how to use (Lathrope & Craig ). Acording to the O/S Derby were being paid for Ball, I thought we were getting him for free for him to gain experience, lets hope that we are getting Jak for free & he turns out be be another Labadie
Think Knill has probably made the right decision to bring in McCourt as a direct replacement for Harding.
Clearly, when there was huge uncertainty over Pearce (indeed it seems his whole career was on the line at one point last week) the priority was cover at centre half but now (thankfully) he has been given the all clear and with O'Connor due back next week and Downes hopefully only 4 weeks away from recovery and McKenzie even back in training too, the pressure has eased considerably in that part of the squad.
Whatever people think about Lathrope and Craig, it is plainly obvious to me that Knill quite simply doesn't rate them, and ultimately they aren't and never have been "his" players. If they had of been out of contract in the summer I have no doubt both would have been released, but the reality is they are still on our books until such time as AK can move them on or their contracts run down.
I would assume that young McCourt will be a stop gap replacement for Harding for the next month, by which time not only will Harding hopefully be available but possibly even Mozika as well..... although where the money is supposed to come from for him remains to be seen!

In fairness to Knill the majority of his loan signings (to date) have always been of a better quality than we had at the club at the time:
(Labadie, Chapell, Azeez)
Ball gave us something we did not have (and probably are now missing) and O'Conner is a very good quality short term replacement for Downes.
As CP says - the centre half worries have eased and I think it is widely accepted that central mid has been our weakest area this year.
I wonder if he stays longer than a month then might this actually be a replacement for Manse? He has had no form at all this year and we are missing a tough tackling midfielder. Manse seems to be at a pace just off what is needed and seems late to the tackle this year.
