Expected to be named as coach of Sunderland. Some rise for the headless chicken.

Headless chicken?? He moved upwards after us and stayed there for a reason. Cracking player for us and as the ditty went, 'ard as f***'.hector wrote:Expected to be named as coach of Sunderland. Some rise for the headless chicken.
Dead right. Charlie was a star for the Gulls. I get the impression that no player, no manager, no chairman is good enough for Hector. If he thinks that Charlie Oatway was a "headless chicken" then he is inventing history.Rjc70 wrote: Headless chicken?? He moved upwards after us and stayed there for a reason. Hector has proved beyond reasonable doubt that he's the original "online" village idiot.gullintwoplaces wrote: I get the impression that no player, no manager, no chairman is good enough for Hector. If he thinks that Charlie Oatway was a "headless chicken" then he is inventing history.

Crazy guy, crazy name...
I bow to your vastly superior knowledge Hector, well impressed. Interestingly though, Charlie played over 200 games for Brighton, including at least two seasons in the Championship. He played under managers, who must have less knowledge about football than you, managers such as Peter Taylor, Steve Coppell and Mark McGhee. Oh I guess you don't rate those managers either Hector? Again I bow to your vast knowledge of the beautiful game. Remind me, which teams did you manage in the Championship Hector? Real ones now, not pretend, pretend teams don't count.hector wrote:Oatway was popular because he was a 100 percenter in our worst ever team. But technically he was lacking and was over-rated but the mists of time cloud judgement for some. Basically, if people are slating Mansell now, then they really have forgotten how bad Oatway was.
Didnt realise Tully had played 3 seasons in the Championship?hector wrote:
Yes, a whole division above - same level Steve Tully somehow managed to play three seasons at.
