callum ball to stay?

just read on sky sports news that torquay are in talks with derby to extend the loan of "striker" callum ball.

all i can ask is, why? :|

he hasnt exactly impressed if you ask me, i know he scored twice against cheltenham but one was virtually a tap in, the other was a strange deflected sort of effort.

surely we could do with spending these wages on some decent defensive cover at this moment in time. i feel we could be more than adequate up front if we used the options we have a bit better.

we have hawley, benyon, sullivan, bodin apparently wanted a shot at playing a more forward role, could the new lad azeez play up front, its all options and if used right we have enough.

sorry but we dont need callum ball. all those that insist on having a big lump up top, well i get fed up watching hoofball and when you have big lads up front the temptation is to hoof it, if we have smaller strikers it might encourage a bit more passing football to their feet or at least a height they can control it and possibly give them more of a chance of getting hold of the ball and doing something with it.

I will put the link in before Bixie goes off his nut!!

I would be happy for him to stay personally. Think he has a lot more to offer than he has showed thus far.

That wouldn't be difficult would it.

I was being a little jokey earlier but I don't want him to stay although he has done nothing wrong in particular. I just feel he doesn't really offer us much than Hawley say for example. If he does stay I wouldn't want him to start games as I feel we have better options IMO.

When you watch the finishing pre-match warm up he is head a shoulders above the others and shows a natural talent which I think we are yet to fully see.
He reminds me a lot of Alan Lee when he played for us in his younger days. I think he will get the goals we much need from him - especially as the team around him have improved over the last couple of games.

Think he's a decent player personally, not suited to the lone striker role but decent nonetheless. We've got to get a centre half though.

Although I have been a fan of Callum and think he has tried really hard for us and no one can take that away from him. However, with azeez coming in, do we really need to keep his wages when we could use his wages along with the other loaness to get decent cover for downes? I think with 4 strikers and Hawley able to do what ball can do wages could be used for cover but I don't know what knills plans are and neither does anyone!

I think Chappell and Azeez could play on the flanks with Ball and Hawley / Benyon up top.

We also have to remember Azeez might only be with us for a month. Especially if he shows form and Charlton continue to struggle.

Just seeing what super said, we might as well keep him

Hasn't done enough to warrant an extension of his loan imo.Given the managerial situation at Derby won't they defer agreeing to anything pending apointment of their new manager?

Good point but think this will be sorted by tonight so unless Mclaren wants to have a look at him before making a decision I cannot see too much issue from this sacking.
