Well that really isn't good timing, just as things are starting to look up a little bit.
With McKenzie seemingly out too, does this mean a debut for Hutchings?

bugger it!
looks like there could be a bit of shuffling about and maybe we will have to put square pegs in round holes!

Yes. Might find Nico starting at left back tomorrow?

Huge blow for us. How my confidence of picking up a point today has dwindled. Hopefully he is only out for a month. Time for some players to step up.

Although Downes is possibly our best player, we can't keep clean sheets with him IN the side so today i'm afraid it looks like a loss. I'd take a draw right now.
This has always been my fear. On the one hand we are chewing the fat about our attacking inabilities yet at the back, one man really does make a team and he is now out for a month at least.
Newport away too. Still, anything is possible in football and I remain hopeful of a point but I do think we'll need to score to get one.
Get back soon Aaron!! We need you boy!!

We are top heavy with forwards and do not have adequate cover at centre half - Knill will have to come up with a loan signing next week in this position thats for sure.
This was always an accident waiting to happen.
Cruise is a liability at centre half and it seems that Knill has bought Lathrope inbto the team to cover him.
With it being a knee problem you do wonder whether it will be a long term problem. If Pearce gets injured in the game we wouyld be in disarray.

Nightmare situation. I was buzzing for the trip today after last week, I even fancied us to nick a win but now even a point seems pretty unlikely. I think today will be a case of damage limitation and Knill will have to get someone in during the week. It's all very well having people like Deaman on trial but the fact that there isn't a capable replacement for either of Downes or Pearce is poor planning IMO.

We definitely need a loan signing in this week. Having a makeshift defence for one game is risky enough, but we can't afford to go along for a month plus with Downes out and no replacement. Fingers crossed it is not a serious injury as Downes does have a bad injury record, that's why he dropped down to us in the first place.

I always thought it was a mistake letting Angus Mcdonald go. He did extremely well for us last season when needed.

Where is Mcdonald now anyway? - not having an adequate central defender in reserve did indeed look like folly.
Is Deaman still here and if so why? - everytime he playes we have conceded a hatful seven against Yeovil five against Exeter.
He has been on a longer trial than Oj Simpson.
