Good news. Since when did he become Manager as well?
THE silver lining to a frustrating weekend that saw United’s clash with Barnet postponed because of a waterlogged pitch comes in the form of a fit Michael Poke.
A damaged rib has kept the Yellow goalkeeper out of action for the last fortnight and he was due to miss the original clash, but the extra rest makes him available for the rearranged fixture tomorrow night.
The Gulls also welcome back Danny Stevens to the fold after he had been sidelined with a niggling groin injury.
‘’Michael Poke is fit, so if there was a good thing to not having a game on Saturday, this would be it,’’ said manager Michael Poke.
‘’The Poke injury has been all about rest. We were touch and go on Friday, but decided he wasn’t ready for Saturday because he’d only been able to do a little bit of work.
‘’The extra three days has given him the time to fully recover and he trained today. He came back to the office afterwards and felt no repercussions, so he is available for selection.
‘’Danny Stevens is also back to full fitness. He trained all last week and we’re delighted to have him back. Hopefully, he can give us a bit of added quality.’’

I thought we had a new manager too!!

Well, not really but it made you look twice. Good news that is much needed. Danny Stevens fit too. Now's the time for them both to perform.

Great news for us, although Barnet fans are disgusted going by some of the comments they have left on the football league forum.
Hope we do the job tomorrow, a must win.

They're Barnet for **** sake, they won't get near our goal. We could have Mr Blobby in net and it wouldn't matter.
Matt.

Awww, Dutch, it's so nice of you to think of me as some sort of Deity, capable of influencing a football match merely by posting rubbish on the Internet. I'm adding you to my Buddy List.

Yep, but Matt, there is a thing called famous last words.

Delighted you think they'll be famous, somewhat perturbed you think they might be my last.

Right, but think about how many numbers there are, two is basically zero.

Or one less than three which is, at least tonight, all that counts.

See, told you. And in fairness to me, if the Popside lino hadn't been Chairman of both the Barnet Supporters Association and of the RNIB they wouldn't have got what little they did.
Still, matters not now, 3 points.
