Could Portsmouth save us?

Post by hector »

This may have already been covered elsewhere but didn't notice a thread.

Whilst not wishing misfortune to another club (unless it is Plymouth Argyle), Pompey will be expelled from the league if they do not exit administration by the end of the season. I would imagine that the league would relegate just one club, rather than accept three from the Conference if they were forced to expel Portsmouth.

Been covered a few times Hector, honest answer, do not know. I know pompey supporters trust were very close back in febuary to buying the club but heard nothing since, we can not rely on it, as who knows what the F.A and football league will do if pompey are expelled.

First beat Barnet, then win one of our last 2 games and it will be someone elses problem.

Pompey have been given six thousand four hundred and twenty three lives already to survive. If anyone thinks they are going anywhere then you need to call a doctor immediately.

Not a chance in hell
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Indeed Andy, if were Stanley, Barnet or even us, rules would rules and out the league you go, as it is Portsmouth no doubt the F.A will find paragraph 150, sub section z , rule 1985.9 which will apply and pompey will be allowed to stay.

Seems that PST have been granted permission in principle to purchase the ground, the last major stumbling block on their path to buying the club outright, according to the BBC News Twitter feed.

It's not for the football league to decide Portsmouth fate, that is up to HMRC's

Their reluctance to make "a big boy" pay for football's attitude to tax and VAT is probably just making the matter worse

Seems pretty certain Portsmouth will continue but Bury need £1m to survive but by when?
End of the season? Half-way through the summer?
Who knows how these things work? The BBC report doesn't say.
