Gillingham - Memory Lanes & Ground Info
Posted: 01 Apr 2013, 13:50
I've just had an idea to start doing a regular thread to accompany the away matchday thread which will be a platform for you lot out there to post any memories you have of watching Torquay at Priestfield ( or whichever ground we are playing at ). These can be tales of great games, goals and incidents, individual things you remember about the day itself whether at the game, on the way to the game, in the town centres, anything really. The thread is just for you to post your memories of games away against our respective opposition.
In addition you can also post any info you like to help fellow Gulls like myself who may never have been to a particular town/ground make the best of our day. There is lots of info on websites like the football grounds guide but i feel someone who has actually BEEN to a particular ground can help others by posting details of anything that is nearby to the ground such as shops, bookies, supermarkets, pubs and places to eat, parking, anywhere really that you may have visited or done when you went there that others could benefit from knowing about.
I'm calling it MEMORY LANES & GROUND INFO ( i know, catchy isn't it
). :~D and i hope that many of you will want to participate and tell us of your great days out watching the Gulls and tip us off of the sights and facilities in and around the grounds themselves as i for one will be most grateful for the info.
Also it would be great if the mods could leave these threads up on the main board as i think they will provide info and entertainment for Gulls fans and i believe they are relevant to TUFC and their fans. If you move it i'll cry, have a fit and threaten not to post anymore.
Thanks everyone and remember: this site is about us all as passionate Torquay fans and i believe threads like this that can help us and also rekindle fond memories of past encounters with a certain team which you can share with others helps the site be one of the best in the football league. ( i think
)
We should be proud of it and how it looks to fans of other clubs who visit. I myself have received messages of praise from fans of other clubs who read my matchday threads and although they too are clinically disturbed, it makes me proud to be a Torquay fan and reinforces our individuality and identity as a club which we should all be immensely proud of. Ok so i'm babbling a bit now and don't know what to say next without sounding like a bit of a phallus so that's it. JUST GET INVOLVED PEOPLES!!!
