Knill's Signings

I remember reading a few Bury fans coming on here saying Alan Knills acquisitions in terms of players are what make him the manager that he is. I have to say if he signed 11 players for us we would be winning the league.

Labadie - Seems like he is probably one of the best midfielders in League One ( amazing no-one has got him before us). 3 goals in 3 from midfield, breaks up play well, a good size, strong into the tackle and decent on the ball.

Chappel - Looks like he his destined for much higher than League Two (MUCH HIGHER), he seems a constant threat, can take a man on, decent crosser of the ball and has a decent shot on him.

Well done Knilly! Maybe bring a few more of your gems in.

Making the difference for sure, showing what we've lacked all season genuine quality and attacking threat.

Lings signings have also done well, but I think what Knill has done is play players that deserve the chance and play a more attacking formation

Think Macdonald also looks to be a great signing. Shoukd definitely be looking to sign him in the summer.

Can't agree more. I have to admit i was wrong about Chappell, not that i said he was a bad player but because i said that the type of player he is wasn't what we needed at this moment in time. He seems to have settled in really well and along with Joss who has just been immense, it appears that Knill knows his onions. Great credit to Knilly and he is slowly turning the ship around. Shame about Benyon though who wasn't one of Knills additions but who was used appallingly under Taylor and is still looking lost.

Labadie is almost picking up where Manse left off last season - getting forward and scoring goals!!

Agreed Knill's signings so far have been spot on, however to be to Lingy he never had this backing, if he had who would have signed and where would we be in the league right now.

that said i think elliot worked his socks off last night, he is a sort of nuisance player like a ferret, credit it to him, i think he has had a lot of unfair stick so far.

Agree with RR. Benyon puts the defenders under pressure. He just hasn't been getting the service he needs to score goals as we are still focused on Rene Howe in attack.

Labadie and Chappell are both good players. Completely given the side more impetus going forward and think where we'd be without them!

Totally agree that Labadie and Chapell have, in only a few games, made a huge impact. You can't argue with 3 goals in 3 starts for Joss ( a real gem) and Chapell last night showed what we've been missing with some much needed quality on the ball - and off it with intelligent positioning but Knill's best signing is Chris Brass who, on the touchline, was directing operations along with Knill.
As I have posted elsewhere Knill and Brass can keep us up.
All we need now is a striker and last night confirmation that we are still looking in fact whispers about a 22 year old from Liverpool.

Not even sure we need another striker. Benyons work rate last night was astonishing.

Yes agreed - I was suprised how good Chappell was - a real gem of a signing. Benyon is not looking lost at all though, did very well last night.
