Time for us To Do our Bit

Post by ROADRUNNER »

come tuesday night its time for the fans to do there bit and make the place a fortress, get the drum going and lets get the whole ground rocking, if the popside do there bit then the family stand and the bench will follow, none stop singing is what is needed, im sure we can all do it if we put our minds to it, i go home from most games with a sore throat because im not ashamed to and will sing my heart out, im the wrong side of 50 and my voice is normally gone by halftime but im sure the lads on the popside can do it , whats the chance of singing alan knills yellow army for the whole of the 1st half without stopping, NOW THERE IS A CHALLENGE. ALAN KNILLS YELLOW ARMY, ALAN KNILLS YELLOW ARMY, ALAN KNILLS YELLOW ARMY :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

I'd be up for it RR but sadly i'll have the distinction of being the only Torquay fan in Chesterfield (although i believe there are a couple in Bolsover so if you're reading this Hello! ).

I'll have to listen to it live on our PEAK FM radio station safe in the knowledge that it will be a zillion times better than Gullsplayer and i won't be paying for it! Roll on tuesday and like you say, get down the moor and sing!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Agree RR!! I'll make sure the boys near the drum do a new song version to 'Alan Knill's Yellow Army', lets see how it takes off! Behind the boys for this difficult time!

Haha, you've got to admire RR's persistence. Mate, face it, the average age of our supporters is about 95. These are people who need oxygen and a zimmer frame to get from the sofa to the bathroom. They aren't the sort of people who are willing or able to sing and dance and shout for 90 minutes. It's all they muster to unsheath a Werther's Original and gum it into submission.

Matt.

These are my sentiments which I posted on the Southend match thread after I got home from the game.
Despite being only a section apart from a very vocal Southend crowd (plus drum) we managed to silence them once Labadie equalised. During the second half we sang our hearts out. This is what must happen on Tuesday night.
The game against Chesterfield must be treated like a cup tie. No moaning at the players because we need a performance at home.
I believe Knill has got us playing football again and if we were away I could see us getting that elusive win but the players seem to freeze at home. Why? Is it because of the negative noises?
Too much gloom and doom. Come on you Torquay fans - for once SING and SUPPORT.
If I can drive 200 miles to do it so can those who live a lot closer. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

There is no atmosphere at the ground - contrast that with the relegation fight under Colin Lee when the atmosphere was sensational.
My personal view is that the supporters who turn up know that we are not going to win and thats the problem.

Remember the atmosphere when we beat Blackpool 4-0 in the league one relegation fight under Leroy. That was sensational! We need that for every home game.

At the risk of repeating myself Knill has got us playing football again and believing. The point is with proper support we can win starting against Chesterfield.

Many have done their bit this season (bitten the bullet and have finally had enough). If the scare-dee cat pussies on the park don't want the abuse, then stop passing the ball directly to the opposition. When they do it time after time in front of the Pop, the response from the o' farts is predictable and inevitable .

point taken trojan but its time to move on and get the team going, if we want to stay up then we have to do our bit, if nick can drive 200 miles and do it so can the glums on the popside, its time to stand up and be counted, IF YOU ALL CARE YOU WILL STAND UP AND SING. :scarf:

Although it is depressing to read these negative posts it is time for those of us who still believe to stand up and be counted.
Alan Knill has changed the mind set of the players but it will need our home support to do the same.
We have some decent players especially with our two recent additions so we now need Tuesday night to be a YELLOW night. If you can't find anything positive to shout then frankly don't bother turning up.
Not only do I drive 200 miles to get to Plainmoor I do the same to go home!!
We have the players to win on Tuesday but they need positive support. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:
