Tonight's TeamTalk

It strikes me that after Saturday's dismal showing and with Knill's comment today that teams in League 2 can't perform at home tonight's match at Dagenham is pretty crucial.
With ten matches to go a win tonight will be priceless so the team talk before the team steps out could be the difference.
Players may well read this forum and with footballers playing the game mostly in their head the words need to be chosen carefully.
Should it be along Churchillian lines ("we'll fight them on the beaches..."etc) or something like Smithy (aka James Corden)? Whichever it is a rousing speech could help us find some form.
Any suggestions?

The team talk should be:
Go out there and earn your money - you are on more a week than most people out there are on in a month, and they have come to watch you, spending their hard earned money in the process. If you fight for the team tonight, and fight for the result you will earn your money....lose and you get sod all.
What it will probably be is:
We can still get into the playoffs - do your best xxxx

I think Knill's pre-match team talk would have been along the lines of " Keep it tight early on and don't do anything silly in the first 5 minutes"
Of course the one we would really have liked to have heard was his half time talk to the players. Motivating a team with a terrible string of results like we've had in recent months, losing away from home and also down to 10 men would have been a tough task for anyone.

For now, the more interesting and far more important words to come from the managers mouth will be his post match de-brief to each of the players. Coz It's gonna take a herculean effort by all to get anything off Southend on Saturday. A team who ripped us apart at Plainmoor earlier in the season. Regardless, It's a well done to the boss from me tonight because whatever he said worked.
Does Downes only get to miss one match?
