United on DVD?
Just been looking on the shop site to see if they sell any DVD's of Torquay either individual games or season highlights but can't find any. Does anyone know if we release DVD's of anything or is there so little demand for them that they stopped doing them? Would be nice to get hold of some if poss.
Cheers all.
Cheers all.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
I seem to remember they offered a 'Conference years' DVD. Not sure though.
Maybe one day, Carayol will find London...

So there is nobody who actually physically videos each home game then?

They did, and I was one of the misguided few that bought it!stevegull wrote:I seem to remember they offered a 'Conference years' DVD. Not sure though.
It has been a couple of years since I tried to tolerate watching it, but if I remember rightly, there is no commentary and only the TUFC goals. So if we won a particular game 3-2, you see the 5 seconds leading up to each of our 3 goals. If we drew 0-0, you see Sills head a chance over the bar, then we move on to the next disjointed, oddly silent set of highlights.
Come to think of it Andy, you can buy mine if you want (now that I have marketed it so well)!

Haha! Cheers J5, i'll send a packet of werthers originals and 50p in payment, you pay the postage and packing :na:

TBH, doesn't surprise me one bit that a TUFC related DVD would be unprofessionally constructed and so wooden. A lot of our teams have been in the past so why should that be any different!

I would have thought this is something that should be negotiated as part of the TV deal so that clubs can sell a professionally put together DVD for an extra revenue stream.

I'd buy a season review DVD. Obviously this seasons i'd use as a sleeping aid with a cup of horlicks but i'd quite like to buy them. After all, it's memories. I'm not sure how much outlay it would cost to make them but i reckon they could sell them at £15 or £20 a pop and they would go down quite well ( a bit like Argyle
).
Would you buy one then?

I think I would buy one. I imagine they could be quite popular, especially as stocking fillers for the many exiles we seem to have...
I wouldn't mind buying one! Heck, I wouldn't mind helping them make it if the previous versions are that bad!!

I'd buy one too. I still have the Year Review book from Leroy's promotion year which I look back on now and again, brings memories flooding back!
I am obsessed with that season - it contains many of the best moments of my life so far.NickGull wrote:I'd buy one too. I still have the Year Review book from Leroy's promotion year which I look back on now and again, brings memories flooding back!
What book? Tell me, tell me, tell me. :~D

I firmly believe that I just set a new world record for Fastest Amazon Order. Cheers Nick.

Haha, like you say, that year was rammed with great memories. Around 1,500 Gulls travelling to watch us hammer Yeovil on their own patch, Cheltenham away which remains the best performance I have ever seen live, Kevin Hill's magic overhead against Macc at Plainmoor, and of course Southend on the Final Day! Incredible scenes.
