I must admit I was on the edge of my seat tonight but what a team performance from our lads. Mansell, Downes, saah etc they were colosal !

It was a long second half. We had a few close scrapes, but we had the bit of luck today that we've been lacking in recent weeks. Our bad run was only 6 games, even if it lasted a few months. Put a few wins together and we're in the top 10 and right in the mix.

Mansell, Lathrope, Poke, Saah and Downes were great today.

Just in from the match, wow what a colossal effort from the boys, Mansell and Saah especially, we were the opposite end for the onslaught on our goal but Poke was pulling out some magnificent saves.

I just think that when the going is tough and the table before tonight was looking grim, you look towards your leaders to stand up and be counted. Cometh the hour cometh the man and did our boys come forward. I'm a proud Torquay supporter tonight !!

Talking about cometh the hour cometh the man, I thought Mansell showed why he is such a special captain ~ his will to win and his tireless energy were awesome last night.

Thought it was important that we see out the game. even though we won, finally having a game where we defended really well and didn't concede a late goal could do wonders for the confidence. We know we can defend well if necessary, but for the last month or so we've been letting in late goals that make us doubt ourselves. It becomes a self-fulfilling cycle; having conceded late, we get to 75 minutes thinking "wouldn't it suck if we conceded late again", so we sit back and invite pressure, and almost inevitably concede late again.

Breaking that cycle was vital for us.

This just goes to show the small margins between success and failure in this division.
