New pro deals
Jake Hutchings and Dan Sullivan have been offered pro contracts. Hutchings has been given a 2 and a half year deal and Sullivan has got a 2 year deal. http://www.torquayunited.com/news/artic ... 90255.aspx
Great news - super - is Jake not a year younger?
From what I can gather these guys are thought very highly of at the club. Any news on whether Connor is likely to get a pro deal?

These 2 have always been the stars upon any of the YT's this season, well deserved.
Jake has just turned 17.

Hope the Youth Team game goes ahead on saturday at Bovey Tracey 11am. It will be a chance to congratulate Sully and Jake if they are not travelling with the first team ! They must be on cloud 9 right now.

Yes jake is only 6 months into he's yts scholarship so to get a pro deal 18 months early is a bit special. I looked on he's twitter and he had only turned 17 just before Christmas .
Being offered prfessional contracts is standard practice on or after 17th birthday. I think league rules outlaw it before the 17th birthday.

I think you will find phil that to get a decision at 17 is the exception not the rule. As stated in the report from the official site it says that the decision is a surprise as the lads are normally told at the end of their two year scholarship when they are 18. In this case he has been awarded he's pro after 6 months which is 18 months early. Although as you stated a pro contract cannot be signed before the 17th birthday of the lad. So it definitely is not common practise to receive it so early.
Sounds to me they know they have a real player here and they are worried that a bigger team will come poaching. Not uncommon practice these days so well done to the club being pro-active on this.supergulls wrote:I think you will find phil that to get a decision at 17 is the exception not the rule. I don't think so yet, I haven seen anything on any other media stating that it has been signed. Normally something comes up on sky sports and bbc sports website etc that they have been completed. I'm sure once they are completed we will see some sort of statement from the club.
