Family tickets - 2 adults, 2 kids, £30

Another step forward from the club. This applies just to the Family Stand I believe, not entirely sure how they're going to stop people going through and sitting in the Bench, unless they do some sort of handstamp system they did on the BB opening game...

Good to see they're trying other ways of doing things. Kids for free or £1 with a paying adult should also be considered aswell, I think.

We need to try and market this in the best way possible.

Again Nick i do agree that it is a positive move but it doesn't cover everyones situation. How many 2 adult 2 kids families go to Plainmoor anyway? I would benefit from the kids for a quid as when i start taking my daughter there will only be me ( 1 adult - although some people would say that's debatable! ) and 1 kid ( me ! ). So although it is a positive, it is also a bit archaic given the shift in families that have single parents and the like in modern life.

this is just the sort of thing we should be outlawing. its got to be the next thing on the governments hit list, following on from levelling off the insurance premium gap, banning free entry for ladies in night clubs etc

its about time they stopped mollycoddling to families, what about some benefits for people like myself who are neither married and have taken the ultimate green stance and not had children!! wheres my discount, my taxes send all the screaming brats thru school and do i get any money off entrance to my favourite football club, do i hell as like!!

I would push this idea further. If you want to fill the family stand why not dedicate a section solely for Pioneer League teams. I would then personally (not send an email) go and see every Team or send one of the players to talk to the kids and invite them to a game, maybe get each player to adopt a team. Build a relationship with them and offer a Team season ticket so they come to every game to support us and their player. Of course Dads/Mums would be welcome to come too. This would work over the short and long term. Give them the bug early.

The club are already giving a section of the family stand free to pioneer league clubs,I know W.B.B. JFC are going free to the Northampton game.

Have not got time to respond fully at the mo, however your top point is a very good one, if 2 dads club can together with their kids, and can go in on the family ticket this could turn out to be a very good idea.

Can’t agree with you on this Bix, a scheme to help football come more affordable for families in this area is exactly what is needed and I applaud the club for finally bringing in this scheme.

I know a couple of families who are Torquay supporters where the kids have to take it in turns to go because the can’t all afford to go to each game, and despite what they tell us on the T.V the recession is getting worse not better, Mrs Forever was made redundant 3 weeks ago after the company she worked for 22 years went bust due a number of companies going bust owing them money, even Tescos Newton Abbot have just announced cut backs and possible redundancies.

I was made redundant 5 years ago pretty much at the start of this crisis after 21 years working for a company that had been running since 1947 went under, I was soon offered two jobs and decided to take a job with Sainsburys, and whilst they are not planning cut backs they are not taking on either.

The point is no body is immune to this recession, least of all football clubs, I think a small part of low attendances is down to apathy, however there is no doubt a large part of it is down to the ever growing number of unemployed who are being forced into part-time or low paid jobs and families who are seeing their incomes squeezed more and more, so I am for these promotions just like to them advertised better.

Dear everyone whinging at the club yet again despite their introduction yet another initiative which most of you have been asking for for months and years,

The price of attending a Torquay United home match is £20 if you want to sit down. If you cannot afford to pay this, then you cannot attend games and sit down. While this is sad, it's also a fact of life. I want a helicopter, but I can't have one because I can't afford one.
When the club introduce initiatives to make it cheaper (or, in some cases, possible) for some to attend, do not whinge, say thank you and move on.

Some people appear never satisfied.

Just on a more cheerier note..courtesy of Geoff harop who is an absolute diamond and wants to encourage young fans in to TUFC and spread the word a large group of youngsters from kingsteignton primary school will be attending the Northampton match and he is very passionate to get the youth in as you can guess he says they are the future of course...thank you Geoff..top bloke and a good asset to TUFC ....

Just tell them she is the adult and your just a bif Kid. I can't imagine your daughter complaining.
