Any tips on safe parking near the Memorial Stadium?

Last season as I drove towards the ground there was a grassed park area on the right, then I came across a pub I can't for the life of me remember its name however I turned right just before the pub and drove up the road came across a residential area and parked there, was safe.

Cheers forever, sounds like Horfield Common and the Wellington. Seems as good a place as any. Looking forward to my first game of the season.

Haha, brilliant F'rev.
Dear Bloggy, find a pub in Bristol with grass near it and turn right before you get there, you'll be safe. Couldn't be simpler and we will all laugh hysterically if you fail to followthese clear and precise instructions. =D
Alternatively, shoot yourself in the leg (9mm or similar, a shotgun is far too much effort), claim a blue badge and park in the disabled spaces at the ground itself.
Matt.

There's no way you've found that pub with nothing more than F'rev's list of seemingly random landmarks (a pub and some grass) and Google Maps.
Do it Blog, all the girls love a cripple, tell them you're a Marine and were injured while murdering an Afghani and sticking the video on your laptop. Honestly, their panties will literally fall off.

Well sorry to shoot you down Mattypoos, but Bloggy has found it from my random landmarks, as soon as I read Wellington that is excatly the pub I was thinking off, remembered it straight away..the grass park I was thinking of is pretty big you can't miss it.
As you turn right the Wellington is at the bottom of road to the left, the park to your right, you can park along side the park or as I did go further up the road and park, plenty off on street parking up there, and as said it was totaly safe.

Oh so they've also got special dispensations at footy matches too now have they?!!

That idea you had Matt sounds like a viable option.

I live in Bristol, so maybe slightly cheating, but I knew exactly where Forever meant as well!

I didn't know you lived in Bristol Kernow. You must come out and say hello sometime. I am in Yate. pronounces Yaaghty by those who think they are posh. or even lower Sodbury if really posh.
I can't attend the Rovers match this season in Bristol. Booo hooo waaaahhh yelll sniffle snort. Not fair.

I am going to get it put off. I will you just see if I don't. it will snow for weeks up here.
The pub your refering to is indeed the Wellington. Pretty safe around there. If you go up the hill a bit then turn left into Kelloway Ave, all along there is parking.
The grassy area you refer to is Horfield Common. You can go past Kelloway Avenue and turn left by the Horfield Sports centre. Go down the road and turn left again and you can find parking along there either in front of the Teritorial Army barracks (The Police park the Horse lorries there) or further along and the road bends right down toward Wellington Hill. there is plety of parking there, . Or if going down the hill, turn right just as to pass the Wellington and the road branches off and goes down a bit and then turns sharp right. it goes up to the crossroads with Kelloway avenue. just at the junction at the traffic lights there is the Church hall and they use their car park for Rovers supporters. Charge is £2 or was when I last went. I nearly always park in there. They usualy keep an eye on cars there.
Try not to park down Filton Avenue. You won't be able to by the Stadium but across the other side of Muller Road it gets pretty jammes up and it's not unknown for cars to be vandalised if you far enough up that road or any offshoots from it. The area is rougher there.
The Stadium car park is sold out with pre paid tickets so you won't get in there. I don't know what faciltities they have for disabled. I never used them if there were any, Haven't followed them for years now.

Parked up past the Welly. Had a pint and OJ with my youngest. Watched a very eventful game seated behind the goal. Disappointed not to come away with a point! Good day - wrong result. Back to Corsham in under an hour.
