Reflections after Worthing Win

Looking back on our 2-1 win over an excellent Worthing side on Tuesday night there was so much to take in and to reflect on.
Firstly the attendance of 3,701 on a Tuesday Evening. Fantastic. Last season our final Tuesday Evening Match was 12 March when 2,238 watched in embarrassment as we capitulated to TauntonTown 0-3.
Tuesdays crowd was 65% higher helped of course by the fact that we had not played at Plainmoor for 31 days. Only two players from last March started namely Brad Ash & Dean Moxey plus Will Jenkins Davies who featured in both games off the bench.
What has happened since Saturday 23 March is beyond extraordinary. Co Chairman Michael Westcott gave a great summary of events in a recent Podcast which is well worth a listen if you missed it.
A New Manager and a new squad put together in a few short weeks and here we are after 12 games in 3rd place with 24 points from a possible 36 and a game in hand of Farnborough who are top with 26 points.
I said to a friend on arrival on Tuesday tonight is when we need Omar Mussa to come good. His performance coming on at Half Time transformed the game his goal being a thing of beauty at the perfect time. His corner for the second goal which Foulstone buried was superb but huge credit to Finley Craske for getting up the pitch to win the corner.
Defensively we have conceded just 11 goals in 12 games but in attack we seem to be lacking one player to really frighten the oppoition. I feel sure Paul Wotton is working on this an a young striker from a big Club will soon enjoy playing on the Plainmoor Carpet. What an unbelieveably good pitch we have thank you Julien Goldthorpe.
Onwards and upwards these are exciting times. COYY.
