I see that Gateshead were yesterday deducted 1pt for fielding an ineligible player. This could be very important in our battle against relegation.

Pity it was only one. Notice Q PR have recalled De Silva, seems a bit odd...unless he got disillusioned with not being played in his natural position and asked to go back.
Maybe a new 'winger' to replace him !!

With their long list of 'previous" misdemeanours , they should have been dealt with more robustly.
Gateshead have shown little or no regard for rules and regulations over the last few years. Justice ? You are having a laugh.......just like Gateshead are laughing at the League.

The punishment for fielding an ineligible player is loss of points gained in the affected game and a fine. The game in question was a 1-1 draw against us, so Gateshead were given the appropriate punishment.

So if we had won the game 1-0 as we should have done as their goal was a blatant foul on Halstead they wouldn't have had any points deducted ?!!

I'm just wondering what exactly some fans wanted the FA to do?, Gateshead only gained a point from the game, and that's been deducted now, kind of end of on the matter for me.

That's the rules but it could be argued that had they not have played the ineligible player we might have won, so we should have an extra two points.
The leagues have never done that though, presumably because it could be unfair to other clubs.
We wouldn't be happy if say Yeovil were given extra points if Wrexham beat them 5.0 but played an ineligible player.
