Uncle Clarke.
On January 14, 2020 planning permission was finally granted after a 4 year delay due to objections, for Gaming International to rebuild the Abbey Stadium, home of the Swindon Robins speedway team and Swindon Greyhound track. Work started last week and the new stadium is set to be complete by the end of the year. Could this be the same Clarke Osbourne and Gaming international who have never built anything in their lives?
Matt, I've been aware for some time the reason why this new stadium hadn't been built was down to planning issues, but, it has to be said, gaming international have not covered themselves in any glory over this at all, and can't really put their hands up and say 'none of this was our fault' If an organisation had the passion and drive, with intentions honourable, they would move mountains, leave no stones unturned, and wouldn't begin the process of a new stadium until all permissions were granted.
Still a bigger picture to be seen here.

And if they do build this, that will be one out of ten they promised to build.
Not exactly covering themselves in glory are they?

It’s not the first time that planning was actually agreed at Swindon either. However, on the previous occasions the stadium was left untouched as more houses were built almost up to it’s perimeter.
This has been covered many times on here and elsewhere, but what was last stated by Clarke Osborne was that some prefabs in a warehouse near Port Talbot were waiting to be plonked on the existing site as opposed to a ‘newly built stadium’ per se, in any event. A far cry from original plans receiving consent which altered the positioning from existing to a new site, you may feel.
I’ve been up there last Speedway season to watch a couple of matches. Housing now is right next to the noisy pit area. Track shortening has taken place. Ask Swindon’s speedway fans what they think of Clarke Osborne and GI and any who supported Swindon’s former rivals at now defunct Reading and you may get an interesting and colourful viewpoint in reply, dawlishmatt.

Does anyone else know anything about the damage to Bristows Bench causing the school to move parts of their curriculum to Newton Abbot? Two different people have reached out today and I've just been informed that Uncle Clarke, presumably through his henchman George Edwards, isn't playing ball over repairs that are causing such an inconvenience.
Shocking if true!!
