New Flags

Self explanitory really. We need to fill the popside with colour aswell as the vocal support we can offer. Any flag suggestions or ideas?
One idea that not many people think of it doing what Aldershot's Red & Blue Army (RBA) do. They project an image onto fabric using a projector and then trace the outlines. They then use this to make new flags by either using fabric paint or simply boldly drawing the outline. We did this for the Kevin Hill flag which is yet to make an appearance at the Moor.

how about a yellow background, the GULL Crest/Logo in the middle, "EVERYWHERE WE GO" across the top above the crest, and "YELLOW ARMY" below it ??
and the projection idea definitely works well. or failing the availability of a projector, just a decent light source and "shadows" can give you a start for outlines.

How are we on the subject of flags without mentioning MidDevon (Mark). He is a thoroughly decent bloke and a big Gulls fan, I'm nailed on certain that he would be able to sort some top notch flags at rock bottom prices. Perhaps with the caveat that his web address be printed large but tastefully along the bottom of each flag?
Matt.

I speak to Mark quite a lot and he's a top bloke. He sorted out a load of flags for SG and he donated two yellow and blue union jacks on here. One of them is now at Plainmoor every week. I'm sure he could sort some different flags out, creative ones would be class.
The block next to the section where a lot of the flags are could be filled. A lot of the 'vocal' popsiders spread themselves over these two blocks, and pillar to pillar it's about 25ft (two 10 footers fit in the other block). Maybe a 10-15 ft banner with an inspirational word or quote would look the don. Fairly cheap too.

Well done Walshy. I think we need to decide what exactly we want, maybe come up with 5 ideas, knock something (good) up in Photographshoppe, put it to a vote on here. Top three go forward to a shoot ut and are produced in consultation with our resident flag expert, with consideration to production cost, viability etc. So, over to you, our glorious leader, to come up with the 5 initial designs.
Matt.

I'll come up with a few designs over the next few days. I've already got a few ideas of different flags, some designs for banners at the back and some designs for 1/2 stick flags. Flags with a stick at each side look good, and Aldershot's Red & Blue Army use these. Also, if we had a few larger flags that could be waved at the front it would look good.
If other people could come up with some designs or ideas it may inspire others to elaborate or design some themselves. It's down to all of us to push things forward and aim for scenes like below.

Here's some real inspiration ...

I reckon it would be a great idea if we get a load of personlised keyring or some thing like these
http://www.prodpromo.com/ad-loop-keyrings-p3963.htm
sell them on then what ever the profit it goes towards paying for flags.

Sad I know but I'm trying to avoid doing anything constructive this evening. Plus it's fun. Don't mock me too much I'm not particularly artistic or good with words and don't have Photoshop or other artistic wizardry.
Ta da! *promises to never pollute the forum with my cr*p again*

Great job, if that's you refraining from being constructive then long may it continue

That's a great flag HRG, anything to fill the popside with colour would be great. I've got a design nearly finished which i'll upload in a bit.
Keep them coming! (Ps if you have a flag, scarf, inflatable for Lincoln, bring it! The more the merrier!)

Didn't quite finish it but you get the idea.
Could even just have the face and make it into a big hand flag like a lot of teams have (including Liverpool in the Kop picture above).
Would be easy and cheap to make. If this image was projected onto a board, cut the blue bits out, get them sewn on, sorted.

sorry, art is not my thing as you can see, but you get the idea !!
can't picture the popside stand off the top of my head, but on the edge of the roof, would it be possible to put anything along there ?? maybe just "yellow army" in big yellow letters ??
Brady.

Flags against Vale, look pretty smart. There's room for another 5/6 footer in that block (well, before the next post).
