I'm not one to take what people say on such sites as twitter seriously, but from the horses mouth
" To everyone asking, I'm sure Torquay wouldn't have let me play if I wasn't illegible. Weren't all the others mentioned full signings?"

Slightly worrying that Graham Turner didn't think Robinson was eligible to play. Surely we couldn't have ballsed this up?

Hmmm, ok, let's not panic too soon, this happened in the Conference last year and the offending team lost all the points they gained while the ineligible player was on the pitch. If 'Swiss family' really wasn't allowed to play, we'll lose all tonights' points...
Matt.

As mentioned in my matchday thread, I'm certain that he was signed purely on loan with a view to last nights game.
The transferring of a players registration takes 2-3 working days, hence no deadline days transfers were eligible for last night.
In the case of a loan, the parent club still holds the registration. Therefore, it's a much quicker process. I have 100% certainty that he was more then eligable. We've signed loan players on Friday before a saturday game before.

Well if he was not eligable,we will find out soon enough thats for sure, really hope he was,as a points deduction now would be a real hammer blow, the club could do with out.

Regarding the loan eligibility thing, if I remember correctly last season Barry Conlon signed on loan for Chesterfield from Grimsby on the morning of our game with them, and promptly scored the only goal.
I'm pretty sure the rules with registering loan players are completely different to permanent deals and don't see there being a problem.

Even if he is we shouldn't get a points deduction, seeing as though they've played in 1 game whcih we lost anyway. So points deductions for games they've not been involved in would be ludicrous.
If it's found they were ineligible we should be fined and warned about future conduct that sort of stuff. A points deduction and we should appeal to it to as high up as possible.

Have to say that I think it is true, we didn't sign them til late and usually it is about five a player needs to be registered for to play in the game the next day I'm sure.
I really, really don't want Bucks to go, but I get the feeling that last night could of been his last with us

Slightly different, given that Hartlepool played an ineligible player last season while he was banned, but they were hit with a three-point deduction.
Wouldn't be surprised if, if this is true, we lost six...
It is truly a shambles wrapped up in a farce.

They did win that game though Andy, so were they not just deducted the points for the game he played in? Not that a fine will be much better news!
As you say, it's completely farcical. How do we not have enough nouse within the hierarchy to know whether a player is actually eligible or not?!
This really has been a week for forget for so many reasons.

Jake Robinson has already scored a goal that gave us some desperately needed hope and seems to be the ideal replacement for Benners. Very happy with this addition to our squad.
Why do we even have rumours about his eligibility? A quick statement from the club could clarify things, surely? It must be someone's responsibility to know the FA rules and apply them - no excuses for wreckless incompetence and if we don't know what we're doing and get punished, quite frankly we deserve to be.
Don't think we can blame this one on Buckle, and last night's disappointment in the larger scheme of things should fade quickly if the lads gel in training this week and we make a fresh start on Saturday. Still early enough in the season to turn things around but we seem to be waiting for more bad news to emerge...

There is nothing official that they were ineligible. I cannot believe we could be that thick that we would not check and then double check this before playing them.
Hope I am right- if not then someone is in for a right kicking. Relegation fears would be doubled by points deductions.

Not the big physical target man that we need at this moment but showed usefulness and took his goal well.
