Does anyone know the situation with the goalkeepers? From reading different threads it could be that Poke is out for the season, Rice is taking injections and will be half fit and we have no plans/not allowed to bring in anyone else?
Nothing official Gulliball. From what a number of our players have said I would not expect Pokey to play again this season and from Royals post who would know, it would appear Ricey may not be fully fit.
Couple of lads I know spoke to Knilly at Gillingham, he led them to believe he could sign an emergencey loan keeper and would be looking, but again that is not official all rumours.

I don't think we meet the criteria for an emergency loan keeper, which sucks.
RR's been on the sauce.

It does seem ridiculous. We have three games left to save our league status and are losing a player week by week. Ladabie was our only goalscorer, but at least we had a replacement, even if it was someone not quite as good. Losing Poke is even bigger because Rice isn't an established football league player. We now have a situation where he isn't fit to train and will be playing our biggest game in years half fit. Next week will be Howe, who we also have no direct replacement for. I don't think this season could have gone any worse if we had tried to. Well maybe, Hastings would have got Man Utd away, not Middlesborough away.

I hope to god, if Rice does play, that we don't have to see one of the defenders taking goal kicks for him. Pure embarrassment.

Think you're confusing us with Chelsea or Man City. We don't have a third choice keeper because we're Torquay United.Gullscorer wrote:OK so who's our third choice goalkeeper in the squad..?

Tezza, not an entirely stupid post (for a change). Ricey needs to be independently certified as unfit before we can seek an emergency loanee. Quite what is the definition of unfit,I'm not sure (I'm not sure that's even the wording used, but I haven't the will to re-find the rules). Do us all a favour, get on Google and see what you can find, it'll only take 5 minutes.
Matt.

Ricey's going to be ok for Saturday, bit of a patch up job but he'll be ok.forevertufc wrote:Nothing official Gulliball. From what a number of our players have said I would not expect Pokey to play again this season and from Royals post who would know, it would appear Ricey may not be fully fit.

Bit of an over reaction here, Ricey isn't a walking cripple, he's ok he's gone into do a bit with the physio today and will probably just go on the bike for a bit. He's not training as he needs to rest it for a few days then is going in Thursday/Friday for full training and will have an injection on match day. He can roll it out, kicking isn't affected but throwing it out might be an issue. He's not going to be 100% fit but most players play with niggling injuries.
don't know anything about Poke, think it's similar to Ricey's problem but worse, definitely out for saturday but don't know anything more.
