Bit harsh on Downes. He has always given 100% and is usually one of the first to applaud the fans. Today he came right over to the away support when plenty of others held back.

That's true. But I disagree that he "doesn't give a sh*t about the club". And he's been our best centre-back this season despite his disciplinary problems.

I agree with tommy, I think Downes does care and always gives his all. I wouldn't want him to leave us, I just wish he'd lead the lads a bit more, I know he's not captain but he's our most experienced player and needs to marshal the younger lads a bit more. So he gets too many cards, he scores goals, can't say that of our midfield of late.

lucy was asking if we felt that any of them would want berry to stay - in answer to that, i would say that they wouldnt care.

Into the £400's over the weekend which was my target,
Thea said they would discuss the idea at a board meeting, sounds like its a big deal on wednesday :}
In all seriousness think this take over rumor thing will scupper any attempt at the club thinking about backing this now! Can live in hope!
Thanks to those who have pledged so far

Nice to see everyone trying to raise £2,000 whilst our indiscipline has cost the club £750.00 + suspensions
Isn't that ironic don't you think?

It's like rain on your wedding day,

Despite the best efforts of Plainmoor Roar (and fair play to him for giving it a go), it looks as though it will all be in vain as Durrell is expected to leave after the game on Saturday. A great shame as, on the whole, he has been very good for us. Our inability to offer him a contract after nearly three months with us, or at least one that was acceptable to him if we even did, was inevitably going to lead to him trying his luck elsewhere.
Shame.
#Torquay boss Chris Hargreaves says Durrell Berry is likely to leave on Monday #tufc @bbcdevonsport

Interesting this, a guy without a club before he joined us. Do good footballers struggle for a job?
Apparently offered a pay as you play contract by us which was very probably at or very near to the national minimum wage and he accepts it.
Does ok from a defending point of view although the team play their worst football and get their worst results dropping to the lowest point in world history while he is in it.
He is liked so much by the fans that they offer to stump up another pittance to pay him. He either decides to decline a contract or isn't even offered one because apparently he is leaving.
I didn't offer to pay him a bean. Goodbye. Move on. Up the Gulls.

A shame if he does go, disappointed the club didn't get behind it but nothing lost and there's far bigger things going on behind the scenes now.
Will be interesting to see who has made him the offer and whether he accepts it.
Worth a go, once deadline expires crowdfunder will refund your pledges, thankyou to anyone who did pledge.

Sort of difficult for him to stay with us now. Looked good whenever I've seen him play, quick and offers something going forwards and back.
