FA Cup: Sheffield United vs Torquay United
According to the excellent livesportsontv.com site our game is live on Setanta Ireland, so for those not travelling and not in Ireland, reckon a bit searching t'internet will get you the game next week.
TUST #324
Dunno if this is ok, but if anyone has a link to a P2P site showing the game I would be grateful.
GET PHILLIPS OUT NOW!!!
so any idea of how many we are liable to take to Sheffield ? I guess £10 a ticket and only one home game before christmas helps

Well i just base my assumption on the fact that our last game of last season IN Sheffield vs Rotherham fetched 700 and odd Gulls and that was to reach the play offs. This game, although a biggish draw is less important and before Christmas so i reckon if we get 500 there we will have done well.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

This is very much NOT ok. We cannot and will not condone members using this site for sharing illegal TV links, any more so than we would condone the sharing of child porn or to plan a murder. Hang your head in shame.DTG wrote:Dunno if this is ok, but if anyone has a link to a P2P site showing the game I would be grateful.

According to a recent ruling in courts, it is now legal for pubs to show EU based streams live, including Saturday 3pm kick offs as they are EU based and therefore part of our trade agreements. I don't know what the rules are for home use but considering streams on the net have pretty much doubled in number since the rulings, I'd assume it is also acceptable.
For the sake of the site though, I won't post them up on public and I will also definitely not send you a PM, DTG...

The streaming of live games on the internet through non-subscription sites is still illegal. It's more difficult to police though because you don't actually store anything like you would with music or films.cambgull wrote:According to a recent ruling in courts, it is now legal for pubs to show EU based streams live, including Saturday 3pm kick offs as they are EU based and therefore part of our trade agreements. The EU 'ruling' you mentioned (still to be ratified by the European parliament) related to a Portsmouth landlady who was receiving her broadcast via a Greek satellite channel which she subscribed to. In other words, she was paying for the service, and that's why it might be allowed in the future.
I wouldn't want anyone to get into trouble .....

Lucky I didn't post any links up or send DTG a PM then!

day off today, so wasting my time with betting sites as usual
i see we're best priced at 6/1 to win on saturday, its a huge price, and obviously before we get the team news it seems improbable, however if the blades loanees continue to be unavailable for fa cup games, ched evans is rested etc etc then we could be worth a punt. most of the blades fans at work reckon they're far from impressive despite their high league position and seem to be grinding out 1-0 victories most often at present, they alll to a man, and a few women, say they wouldnt be at all surprised to see us win!
i'm gonna hold off for a few days but def think i'll have some of that and the draw too

Just paid for my ticket today, helped by a very nice lady in the office ( don't know who she is though but thanks ). I must say that it is the first time i've had need to contact the club since i bought tickets for our play off semi v Shrewsbury and i was pleasantly surprised to hear a very professsional recording offering me a number of options. It is more professional and easy to use ( as opposed to some companies who give you 5 options to get you through to another 5 options and so on until you've grown a beard before you get to speak to anyone ). I wish the club would look at reducing the fee they charge for sending out the tickets however as it is unreasonable. That said lets all pile down the lane on Satdi and get stuck in!!! COYY!!!!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
A couple of questions from me:
- obviously I've seen all this about reduced prices and tickets available on advance. It may have already been raised, but are tickets available on the day? And are they still at the reduced rate? (apologies if this has already been answered, I've not had the chance to look through all the posts)
And
- parking near the ground. The excellent football ground guide site seems to suggest it's more street parking than anything else. Always a bit wary of heading to a new ground with no clear idea on where to park, anyone got any tips on where would be best to aim for?
Cheers

I rang Sheff U and finally managed to get through to someone at the ticket office. I asked them if i could buy one from them and have it sent out and they said no as all tickets had been sent down to Torquay. They said at that moment pay on the day for visiting fans was not going to be allowed and i should contact Torquay for a ticket. I bought a ticket from Torquay this morning because of this ( and had to pay £6 postage as well as ticket cost ) so my ticket has cost £16 instead of £10. The lady at Torquay said all unsold tickets were to be sent back to United and she didn't know what would happen to them after that but presumed they would be sold on the day. So its all a bit confusing Jeff. It seems nobody has been able to reassure me that i can turn up on the day and get a ticket so i decided to buy one today just incase. If you ring Sheff U they may be able to help you further but i doubt it, they are useless. As regards parking, i've never been to Bramall Lane for a game but i used to work in Sheffield city centre and parking is a bit of a nightmare with really limited street parking. May be best using a city centre multi storey and walking as it is not too far from the centre. Many Blades fans go on the train or trams as well, i,ve got to go on the train too so i'll keep my colours hidden until i get off incase i get battered!. You could park at Meadowhall shopping centre and get a train in, thats always another option.
